Amazon moving into PLR ... but not what you think!

Amazon rolling out new in-house brands in coming weeks - MarketWatch

Amazon is going to private label perishables!

Food, diapers, coffee, detergent....

Now think about this for a sec, okay?

Amazon is taking stuff other people created... and putting their own brand to it.

That's just like the PLR we see in our niche ...

You can buy done-for-you products and claim authorship/ownership/etc.

Then you can create your own product as a front end...

... and use done-for-you PLR as upsells, thus easly monetizing your sales funnels right from the get go.

Your takeaway?

Taking advantage of other people's work in a legitimate way....

... can dramatically shorten your time to market.

    It's done all the time in every industry. I don't see a big deal.

    Food Lion does not make bread, orange juice, and cereal...Yet they have those items bearing their name on their shelves.

    And I am pretty sure George Foreman did not create a grill.

    Private label products are usually a step above "generic" - and I would expect Amazon quality to be high with excellent pricing.

    If we could buy standard household products that we buy in bulk from Sam's Club now - we'd switch to Amazon in a heartbeat. As it is, our family looks first at Amazon when buying anything - due to to AmazonSmile which donates to our favorite charity.

    Now if Amazon would just buy out 1-2 of the top five publishing houses and get Kindle best seller book pricing back to a reasonable level, I'd be a happy camper.

    This really isn't anything new. A lot of retailers have their own generic or "house" brand. Nothing to get excited over.

      Why? All the big players Walmart, Target, etc. as well as lots of smaller players have been doing it for quite a while. Amazon is only following the trend, not setting it, (in this instance}

    Google PLR has been happening for some time now. For more and more searches Google provides the information for which it used to send traffic to your website.

    To me, it is not big news...

    Amazon putting its "brand names" on products...... Is like WalMart's "Great Value" line... It will help their bottom line... But, it is not earth shattering...

    When they sell USS Enterprise Toilet Paper™....... It will be BIG news...

    They can use the Tagline, "It circles Uranus and removes the Klingons." :-)

      I was reading the Amazon brands will only be available for Prime customers, which already depresses affiliate referrals as Primers go straight to Amazon.

      Also, there was a prior thread about Amazon excluding entirely from its affiliate program Prime customers who order same day or one day shipping. No commissions are paid on those orders.

      Overall, I would say Amazon's moves will keep making it worse for Amazon affiliates.

      But, there is an opportunity with other merchants, who are now advertising their products and shipping offers without requiring a membership fee.

    That is very true, Amazon seems like they claiming ownership of your own hard work, just like PLR... However let's not forget the fact that they get us plenty of traffic for our products, so it's a win win situation for both sides.

    Why?
    Because Amazon usually does it with a little twist no one else thought of.

    I expect Amazon quality to be more a Costco variety than WalMart - and without having to buy a membership or drive to a store.

    IF those private branded products can be applied toward the $49 threshold for free shipping....that would be icing on the cake for shoppers.
