Sign your W9 form electronically: How Do I do this?

Trying to apply to a CPA network but how can I sign their w-9 electronically?

I know what it is but don't know where to go or what I need to do it.

What is the best option? I have Googled it but don't want to get scammed.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Also what does it mean when they ask you, "Exempt from backup withholding?"

Type in your name and send it back to them. That's all

Seriously? No encryption or anything? There is such a thing as a digital signature...

LOL I don't think a CPA network would scam you, if you're uneasy about handing over your SSN then file with the IRS as a sole proprietor and get an EIN and use that.

No, you misunderstood me... Did not want to get scammed paying for 'electronic signature' software. I have no problem giving them my SSN.

I went ahead and did it it went fine. They should have just said type your name here (serves as digital signature) for guys like me that think waaaaay to much
