does ezinearticles still work to get traffic and affiliate sales?

Yesterday I purchased a premium ezine articles membership and today I wrote 4 articles.

Back in 2008 I used to write a lot in ezine that got me over 400 affiliate sales.

My question is does it still work?

Ezine, Associated Content, and others used to be great ways to get easy traffic back in the day. If you could write a half way decent article, you could get traffic. Times sure have changed.

In my own experience over the years with ezinearticles, it has been an extremely powerful marketing tool.

I have never used it for direct traffic nor for SEO backlinks; two of the most popular yet most useless practices inflicted on the gullible by nefarious marketers of article spinners and article writing services.

In contrast, article marketers who can understand that by using ezinearticles for which it was originally intended, are reaping windfalls in exposure to new markets, traffic, and conversions.

This article directory is still well-regarded by ezine publishers, bloggers, and webmasters for sourcing content within their niches.

And by providing quality content consistently while effectively promoting one's EZA portfolio, one can quickly establish a credible presence within even some of the most highly competitive niches.

This is the answer you have been looking for smitchacha.

What he is practically saying is write over the top articles that can be syndicated by others on their websites, blogs, ezines etc. This will drive thousands of your website.

The traffic now won't come directly from ezinearticles like in the past. It will come from your syndicated posts on other peoples sites.

    Focus on Facebook.

Believe me. It is the PUBLISHING platform of the present AND future.

    Why?

You not only get a free publishing platform, it also provides TRAFFIC.

If you know what you're doing, FB is all you need to build a list and a decent passive income funnel system.

    Facebook traffic and reach...

Can't beat that... even with a baseball bat!

Submitting articles to EzineArticles.com is still a great way to get traffic, leads and sales for your business.

Article marketing is a great way to:

    -Establish your credibility
    -Get eyeballs on your offers
    -Build a list
    -Get brand exposure
-Get your brand, products and services in front of an entirely different audience
    other than your own

Any marketing strategy that's fueled by content will work. Of course you have to create a lot of content and do it on a consistent basis if you want it to work for you.

A lot has changed since 2008. Those were the days of Digg, EZA, Squidoo, and web 2.0 traffic. You might as well stick to social media traffic now.

No not really. Convert those potential articles and insight for Youtube videos.

Ezine doesn't rank for the keywords it once used to rank for. It is not considered as a source of traffic now, but may be for a link. I don't recommend you to waste your efforts 100% on ezine, but it is not wrong to test and track the visitors ezine sends to your main website.
