Can you share your thoughts on posting same content in multiple sites?

I'm new to SEO and I would love to get advice from SEO experts in the forum.

I have a unique content I wrote in my blog (assume it is blog.adam.com), Will it affect the SEO rankings of adam.com if i posted the same content in my medium profile , Quora and linkedin profile?

If it affects the SEO, What is the best way around?

Thanks in Advance.

A common misconception is that Google penalizes duplicate content. It's not true.

Watch the video below from Matt Cutts that debunks this school of thought.

As webmarke pointed out, your site won't get a penalty just for that.

However, Google may also rank your content on those other profiles of yours, and it may even outrank that same post on your blog.

Therefore, you want to make sure you're still able to capture leads on those "duplicate" posts on your other profiles.

no not at all. Google actually will credit the original source where it found it. Google will also know that your all connected if you have your pages bridged together. You can always simply make some small changes to your content on each site as well but I would not worry to much. Keep my fingers crossed

Do-follow link will increase your page rank & site traffic at the same time, while the No-follow link will increase you site manual traffic only. So you need to check the site. There are many tools to see which one is the Do-follow & Which one is the No-follow. I used SEO QUAKE / SEO Toolbar & so on. Thanks for your advance.

It is "okay" to Syndicate your blog's content.

BUT, it is very important that you give Google time to INDEX the content FIRST.

Before you syndicate your content on another site, make sure Google has indexed it from your site FIRST. This is very very important to do!

Because, if you do not, then Google might index your blog post from the other sites where you are sharing it FIRST - and that will make the blog post on your site a Duplicated Content.

Also, when you share your content on other sites, make sure you LINK BACK to the Original Source. In this case your blog post, right.

So, it is okay to do this, but you gotta do it in a smart way!

By the way, that video from Matt Cutts above is very helpful. Really watch it and learn from it!

    Keep up the great work!

    Cheeers!
