I just ran into something I didn't think of in the beginning. I purchased a domain name last year, and developed a site promoting a particular type of business opportunity. I wrote and submitted a good number of articles to generate publicity and links. Because the business involved building relationships with real people, I chose to use my real name as the author in my articles. My real name is fairly unusual and a Google search only brings up me and one other person with the same name. I included links back to this site in all my resource boxes. Now, I'm in a good position to sell this site for a nice profit and move on to a new project. However, I'm concerned because whoever buys the site can do whatever they please with it. I have my real name out there with substantial links back to it. I know I could remove some of the articles through my ezineariticles account and a few others, but many of them were sent out to hundreds of places through services such as UAW and SubmitYourArticle. Wondering how others have addressed this issue? |

I use my name for everything cos I am Nigerian who needs to build a reputation so as to be accepted as a clean person by the online world. Really, I don't think you should have any problem selling the site with your name. Remember that the site cease to be yours the day you sell it and you can always you that as prove if the buy does something wrong with it. I also think it is possible to change your expert author name at EZA and some other directories. I am not totally sure but I guess it is possible. |

My concern with selling this existing site is that I have lots of articles out there with a link back to it. I'm not really that concerned that a new owner will create a questionable site (the domain name is very focused and only a person in this specific industry will be interested at the price). I guess I'm wondering about all the articles with my real name (not a pen name) that will now have a backlink to someone else's site. I was wondering if anyone else had promoted a site (articles, the whole gig) with their real name, sold that site, then had any issues because of it. |

You do have a VALID concern, especially as you just can't tell what the new owner will do with it. Since it will be very difficult to change all the articles, I'd suggest you stick with the site. . |
