Hello,
I'm new to this very useful forum. I want to start my own niche site but i don't know how to choose one.
Is there a way to know is some niches are profitables or not ?
Because i don't want to pick a niche and not get any pennies
Thank you.

  • Something I'd suggest is going with the an evergreen niche...one that won't fade out with the times.

You want to have a niche that is a big market that is evergreen. Ideally there should be an abundance of digital and physical products being sold in it.

Good point here. I found that if you take your keyword or keywords and start a facebook ads account and then pretend you're going to create an add you can take your keywords and enter them into the interest section.

What you're trying to find is at least 1 million people in your category. That will help you determine if there is enough value in your marketplace. But if you see there's 3 million plus then you might need to niche down because that's too many people to go after.

Try to stay around 1 million sized markets.

Hey I'm starting this too, look into "sub niches", look for ones where people are spending money (there are products for sale) and where there's low competition but people are still searching.

Is there something that you are passionate about? That would be your niche!

    Skouza,

Everyone is telling you to start with a product to sell or something you have a passion for. That is a mistake.

    Why?

There is no guarantee that the products you choose or your passions are also shared by lots of others and are in money niches.

Start with demand in the marketplace. You want to know what people are looking for and purchasing right now.

If you are serious about creating a profitable business, do this:

    1. Download this free report: The Niche Intelligence Report
    2. Read it and reread it. It's only 26 easy pages long.
    3. It will give you insight into the "mega niches"
    4. It will show you evergreen money niches.
    5. It was written by a guy that is an Internet marketing superstar and is the single best report I have ever seen covering money niches.

I'm serious, this report should be required reading for all IMers.

    The best to you,

    Steve

    Its totally depends on you.
You can create niche site on different topics.
If you want to earn money from adsense. Then choose some widely search low competition keywords. Because you don't have to covert them into sales.
Now if you want to create a niche site which is basis on affiliate ex- amazon, clickbank etc.
Then you can choose 500-1200 monthly search keyword.
for keyword research try google ad-word.

    Hello,

If your new to this, and your choosing WordPress for your platform, then you must learn how all this works, your niche should be something you know about, but with out knowing how to set things up, nothing will work.

We see this type of post all the time, and next post will be, why is my niche not getting traffic or sales, then please look at my site for help.

So this is a Real business, takes time to learn a new business, Web design and IM marketing is not as easy as people say it is, in order to do well in this business, you must be an expert at online marketing for starters, many pros here will not tell you what they are good at.

But most pros are experts at, web design, marketing, seo, code, graphic design, e mail marketing, product testing and much more, yup this is what pros do every day, but we just don't talk about it, that much, so on the outside it looks easy, but it is a 6 hrs day in my office, yup every day.

So my point here is to learn, then become really good at this, and then you will make real money.

Test the niche out. Everyone of them won't be good for YOU. Spend a few bucks (around $100) to put a site and run an ad to see if your squeeze page can "at least" captures a free lead. If it does, and does well... roll with it. If it doesn't, go on to the next niche and repeat the procedure.

Research carefully. There are a lot of niches you can starts on. Just pick one. They secret is by picking the right keyword for it. Usually long tail keywords have a better chance in ranking well with lesser competition and you can start personalizing your nice website.

You definitely want to choose a niche that is evergreen and profitable to build a business around. One that offers different product types; both physical and digital, and even services.

My advice: Go about something that you know One or Two about, Don't grab something that people say it has good money.

Like myself i like Android and I Know about android that's why i created HabeEvil.com

    1. Go to all the popular affiliate marketplaces and view the products that are selling. Obviously, your best chance at making money is with products that are in demand.

    2. Choose topics that you know a lot about, then use the Google keyword tool to examine the monthly search count for your topics. If there is demand, then you're on to something. The next decision is to determine if you can monetize your topics.

    3. Examine the Kindle Marketplace for nonfiction books that are selling well. This is another telling sign at what information people are looking for.

Try the FOR test. Find a niche that has problems you can solve, and a market that you're going to target in that niche.

Take your niche -- <your_niche> and add FOR to it, then finish the sentence with your target market.

<SEO> for Beginners <-- Target market.

<Weight Loss> For New Moms <-- Target market.

    <Time Management> For Entrepreneurs <-- Target market.

<Dating> For Single Dads <-- Target market.

<Yoga> For Seniors <-- Target market.

    On, and on.

If you can help someone get paid, get laid, have fun, or live longer, you can make money.

this is where most newbie fail.

they sit on the computer seat, umming and arrhing.

    what the hell?

Get off your ass, and just choose one. If you actually know how complicated things actually get with your marketing, and you cannot even decide on a niche, you are in serious trouble.

PICK ONE, just one, and go with it.

    Stop fartassing around, seriously.

Dieting, Health, wealth, financial, stock market niches will never go away, pick just one,, and do that.

Of these, one of the best in DIETING, there choose that one. LOL. and do not come back and ask....BUT BUT BUT...its too competitive. BS>........lol. Just chose it and go start building your business!!!

Take action and do something each day, and you will profit! I assure you.

Sitting on your fat arse, and ummming and arring, will get you back to where you are right now.....at ZERO!......and my question to you is.....do you want to stay there, or MOVE Forward?????

The ANSWER my good sir, is up to you!?

If you are saying pick a random niche that is bad advice. Doing "something" does not translate to making money, and yes I know that doing "nothing" will guarantee no money comes in at all, but you can make the same amount of money doing nothing as you can doing the wrong something.

        more excuses for OP.

I have never seen anyone, and I mean anyone come online and knock it out of the ball park.

We all have failed at some point, and its the smaller successes you have from doing things, an taking action.

Doing nothing, brings nothing, that was my point. Sheesh!

    Both winners.

Some of the advice I am reading today wow we really should be seeing more success stories added to the forum!

Maybe they are in the making and on the way.

A lot of us here know based on our own experiences what we would do differently if we just started and we are sharing it so others will benefit so I really hope readers take advantage of it.
