New idea, need help bringing to life

So i had a vision a few years back of a newly designed notebook to take notes on, its simple i know, but i want to bring it to life. I have some sketches of it but i need to know what actions to take next to build it.. advice?

    Creating your own product is a exciting experience!

    Not sure if you mean electronic or just plain paper.

    But please do not become the only person in love with it.

    What will you do that sets you apart from the hundreds on the market already?

    Have you simply asked a consumer what features they would love to have.

    With all that said I would be talking to manufacturers in China directly. You would be surprised how accommodating they can be.

    Have you considered how notebooks have changed since you first thought of your venture? Have you made any adjustments or thought a few years ahead?

    If you have enough resources, try to market it and see what will happen. See how people take your product. There's no harm in trying. And you won't know it unless you try.

    You'll need a prototype. Google something like "prototype creation service". Another option may be to create a 3d model and use a 3D printer to create the prototype.

    You definitely need to use your own funds to create a prototype. You can ask friends and family for donations and try your best to sketch out a prototype model.

    Once you have your sketch, you can go to a local engineer or design school (community college or university) and have someone design and make the prototype for you.

    Then after all that, if it goes smoothly and you have a set prototype, you can then create a viral video campaign using indiegogo or kickstarter. You can use that as the capitol to make your creation come to life.

    There you go. Write it down on paper and that is the first step. You now brought a thought or idea to life by writing it down. Next break it down into small goals and then create plans to hit those goals...

    Start writing. Pick a good topic that you can think of, and start writing. Are you trying to improve your writing skills/ability? Just start writing.

    thanks for the awesome feedback!!!! you guys are ze best!

    I sketched it up, im having a fiverr 3d artist bring it to life, and i talked with my parents about the potential use of it, lol, but we discovered that there is a problem with them focusing and we concluded that when you write things down it helps you to focus and work more effectively. so my solution to the common problems of forgetting and focusing is writing, but in a fancy new notebook

    Have you looked at the current notebooks to see if your idea is taken? Check on Google Product Search, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

    If it's not available then hooray! The next steps are design you can go to the closest dollar store or thrift store nearby and try to actually make a real prototype of it.
