Default Looking For Easy Video Editing Suite

Hey Warriors,

I'm in need of an easy to use video editing suite. Something that can create great looking text effects.

I've got a few marketing videos I need to create, and I'd like to make them sexy, but Windows Movie Maker can't do that - and I don't have the time to learn something like Premiere.

So, what can you recommend - or who can you recommend that can do it for a decent price?

If you ask me video editing is inherently complex, but that's just me.

I use camtasia to create my videos and although it's better than windows MM it's not strictly speaking a video editing software.

I downloaded the trial for Sony Vegas 8 but didn't use it because the learning curve was too steep. I really can't recommend something that's going to give you 'madison avenue' like productions without a high price tag or a steep learning curve.

Having said that though, you are welcome to download and try Sony Vegas. You might like it.

Hey Hav,

I don't really need something that's going to blow the socks off, I'm mainly just looking for something with some cool text effects. My plan is to intersperse screens with a one liner between short clips of content - sort of like a "trailer" for the product I'm selling.

Chris,
Find somebody with a Mac and pay them $100 to do the editing for you. I am sure you can get this done at odesk or elance quickly

Windows movie maker is kind of weak but I use it for simple Youtube Stuff. I've also used Vegas Video - overkill, and the junior version Sony Movie Studio I believe it is called, and it's actually pretty good and not that hard to learn.

But if I ever get into video for real, I'll probably just buy a mac to do it with iMovie. I have no desire to be a video editor, but sometimes it's nice to be able to do some simple stuff.

Give Vegas Movie Studio a try. In fact, most companies who produce NLEs (non linear editors) will give you a free, fully functioning trial.

Download them and try them. They'll meet the needs of the overwhelming majority of users.

The best one to use is the one you feel most confident with.

Most editors I know of that do what you want them to do
require quite some learning time hence If your in a hurry or
don't have alot of time to learn, I'd recommend you outsource
this work.

Infact, You could even see if theres a warrior member who has
a good editor and is quite adept to using it and could do this for you.

Um, not sure where you got the idea that Windows Movie Maker can't do "sexy" text, but you might wanna go to the Windows Movie Maker forum. WindowsMovieMaker - Bing

The folks there are really friendly & helpful and the effects they can show you in Windows Movie Maker are awesome.
