|  For the Complete Video Newbie, Camtasia or CamStudio?
I know one is free and one costs a bit, but what are the biggest differences in the two. For some one who has never created a video, which one would you recommend?

Camtasia will save you so much time even though it costs money... I dumped the other within about 5 minutes of using it... I do all my training videos via camtasia...here is an example... Created by Camtasia Studio 6 The quality is so much better... |

Well I have used both but have not bought Camtasia yet. I really like Camtasia and it's features but CamStudio is actually Camtasia in it's earlier stages. From what I know it was buggy and had browser compatibility issues. That has since been fixed in CamStudio Internet Marketers Version and if you don't want to crank out $300.00 yet, try the updated CamStudio. I'm using it to create tutorials for a few of my membership sites and it works great.

Do you have to still use windows movie maker and audacity with Camtasia, or is it an all in one kinda deal?

I use Camstudio only, it does a great job. And if you configure it properly, the quality is excellent.
