I have had very good success with niche sites. Niche sites are the way to go as all the general keywords are competitive and occupied by very huge authority sites.

Finding a low competitive niche and building a website for that would be very profitable if you know what you are doing.

Getting quality traffic that leads to conversions is the key to success. If you can generate traffic, niche sites can pay off for you.

    Good luck.

IMO.. build them with lots of content to show the intent is to help visitors opposed to just making money off them..

Use social sites like Facebook and Twitter to spread the word..

Back in the days, people created MFA, or Made for Adsense, niche sites. Many people would create a niche website with a singular topic, outsource the content creation to article writers, and then use slick tactics like EMD, exact match domains, to get rank quicker. Google caught on and made updates to their algorithm.

It's a better idea to make your niche website more social and hopefully viral. Also, create you content in a way that visitors will stay on your website longer. As for finding profitable niches, just use the Google Keyword tool or search through Amazon's best seller list to get ideas on what is being searched the most and what is profitable from what's not.

As long as you have good content, update regularly and optimize for SEO, should be no problem.

  • I find success mostly in the targeted topics that are in the evergreen niches. But of course, there are a lot of factors to be considered as well like the quality of your website/pages, the quality of traffic, and your marketing to name a few. I agree with the comment above that you really need to build a website with a lot of good content on it, then everything will easily follow.
