I need some help with a wordpress issue

Often, when WordPress themes are advertised, the demos have posts and pages already added so they can show customers what the theme looks like when it is built out.

But then you get the new theme in your download without the posts, pages, sections, menus, navigation links, etc, and when you install it the site looks nothing like the demo. It's because you are only getting the skeleton and not all the "content" files the creator used in displaying his theme on the web.

Some of the better theme sellers (like StudioPress) send the "guts" of the demo theme along with the download (if you want to use it) so that you can start your site by just replacing their files with you own. It's a more intuitive way to learn how to fill out a new theme if you don't have much experience with WordPress.

I would suggest you go to the Warriors for Hire section of the WF and you will find many people that you can hire to help you.

thanks steve , yes they sent all the content with it but it gives errors still on the main page.... how do I post in warriors for hire, does it charge me to post there it said 20.00 for a post so I assumed that was for me trying to find work I dont need to find work I need to hire.

Those aren't really errors. They appear to be remnant shortcodes from a theme or plugin.

Did you create your page(s) initially in one theme ( Iron Templates? ) that had a page-builder function, or with a page-builder plugin, and are now trying to change to another theme?

One of the downsides of some page-builder themes & plugins is that you have to keep using them in order for the shortcodes to be interpreted properly. Otherwise, you'll get displays similar to what you've posted.

You'd need to check with your original theme vendor support to see if that's the case here.

wasnt able to get ahold of anyone to respond for help its been days and I am running out of time to get my site live.... this was all demo content not done nothing original yet the theme was out of the box installed and demo content imported.

wordpress never had this issue with it or other themes before im pretty decent with wordpress, and it wasnt used with a page builder it was a out of box theme with demo content included installed as instructed and this happens , theme is called Lush from theme forest

Hello,

The theme you purchase, should work like this, menu settings will make your demo come to life, once you change how you want your navigation structure to look and and slideshow options, you should start to see the demo look come to life,the slider revolution system, will not work until you have set all settings correct.

As for page layout, each page should a drop down on right side of page inside admin area, choose which one you want to show and done.

Try to watch all videos on this theme, from YouTube, all free stuff, most themes work the same, now with very little WordPress experience, you will find this a bit tricky,

You can hire someone here to do this for you, but why, if you think it is something to do with the theme, send a ticket to support system.

There's a pagebuilder plugin (vc) giving those errors. Disable the plugin (unless it's hardwired into the theme ��) and see if that helps. Try replacing it with Pagebuilder by Siteorigin.

  i also tried the plugin as that is what webhost suggested but it did not fix anything those codes showed up in the theme when i installed it... I would be willing to hire someone if anyone thinks they can fix it for me... I really need this site functional

if there is anyone who is willing to be hired to fix this I would appreciate it, I really need the help I have 2 family members going through cancer right now and I have limited time to get this site up due to that, and im already behind and if i lose this site it will affect my income and we really need income right now.... Hope someone is willing to be hired and help me get this site up and running properly without problems...

Yeah send me the site address and wp login if you want to. I create my own themes with Artisteer so don't get these issues. I'll have a look at it for free though and see if its an obvious problem. The wp admin login would be best. rickardgreg@hotmail.com

1. Visual Composer plugin is either not installed or activated.

2. Theme that uses the shortcodes is not activated.
