Need Help On Making A Fiverr Gig

Well you got to find a way to make yourself stand out from the crowd. Writing gigs on Fiverr are all too common. Freelancers there sometimes try to over-deliver by writing more words. That may or may not help, but that is still a USP (unique selling point) to bag some clients.

If you know another common and popular language like Spanish, and is willing to write in that language, that could help.

Here are some tips:

1. Go to fiverr and browse the top writing gigs and see how they created theirs. Area of concentration should be the title, video, short description and tags.

2. Setting up different gigs focusing on different aspect of writing will also give you more exposures just like two head is better than one.

3. Make a catchy title because that's what people see first. Your description should show you have good writing skills and also describe your gig/service. If you have video upload it or create an eye popping image of the description of your gig.

4. Write and add relevant tags/keywords for your gig. I don't know how many is allowed but that will help send targeted people to your gig.

5. Review, review, review... It's something you should be ready to give an arm for. Even if it means writing two gig article for one in exchange for a few reviews. If you have a few of these reviews and your content is superb, you will enjoy repeated customers and get lots of referrals. Do want ever you can to avoid negative review even if it means refunding an already completed gig. It's just $5 and won't hurt you.

With time you can increase your price to $10.

My best advice is not to put it on Fiverr to begin with.
You will have better results and be in control of your own destiny by:
1 - Creating a small website around your services.
2 - Promote your website via Craigslist (by featuring each service separately).
3 - Create informative videos to an audience that would need each service and post to youtube using "want" keywords, i.e. Need Articles, Need Sales copy, Need an ebook written, etc.- get more micro-niched focused as you can and you'll see results and on a continual basis without having to compete with the masses on Fiverr.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I have just made my gig. Following johnben1444's suggestion the gig title is "I will write two 600 words article for you for 5 bucks" I hope that's catchy enough to lure my first few customers and get reviews for this gig.

I don't have the resources to make professional videos or a website right now so I just have to make do with what I have.

I would suggest charging more than $5, some people will go for quality.

I do voice overs on Fiverr and charge a minimum of $50.

For me the main attraction would be that you speak native English, because it's easy to spot someone who isn't a native speaker. Having said that, keeping it simple is good, writing as one speaks is something many writers miss.

Just take action, get it listed and put your link in your signature on here, share on FB, Twitter etc.

Make sure you over deliver on the first few gigs to get good feedback.

Ok, so I have changed my signature and put the link for my fiverr gig there. My question is how many people actually ticked the "Show Signatures" checkbox in the Thread Display Options? The default setting is to NOT show the signatures, right?

You can make some Ads with Facebook and Twitter to reach it simply.

You can try to create new Gig per Gig 500 word $5 dollar or another amount use your gig.

The going rate currently on Fiverr for a 500 word article is $5.

To stand out you could offer: a 550 or 565 word article or blog post on any topic for $5.

This could be a promotion and I would put that on my page. This will help you build up your ratings. Fiverr works off ratings the more and higher ratings you have the more visibility Fiverr will give you.

Another great way to stand out is to take the time make a good portfolio of your work. You could offer a link to your website with your different writing samples and past work.

Your goal is to show your would be customers your writing style. This gives your would be customers a visual of what they can expect should they hire you. The customers on Fiverr want a lot of work for $5 or $10.

The editors on Fiverr are looking for sellers who are taking the time to make a video of their work, and have great portfolios of their work.

If they feel your listing is worthy they may even decide to feature your listing.

They want to know if your serious this is what will make you stand out.

Fiverr has new sellers popping up everyday and most of these sellers people don't take the time to create portfolio. Customers want to see what you can do, they are skeptical and value their $5 more than you know.

If I were you I would spend the time in making an exceptional portfolio and a possibly a video introduction. This will show the customers who you are and what you have to offer.

One method . . . continually scan the Wanted section of Fiverr, and as soon as anyone posts wanting a writer, create a gig using their wording of what they want, and contact them offering that gig. Over-deliver and show examples of your previous work etc.

That way will require more effort at first, but as soon as you get some good feedback from customers, your gig becomes a lot more attractive to buyers.

I did writing on Fiverr a few years ago, doing 400 words for $5, and got some sales. The main problem for me was that most clients wanted more and more for the same money. So be sure you don't allow yourself to get stretched too far!

A more long-term approach would be to create products rather than write for money. i.e. think about a business rather than a job. An Ebook I wrote has made me over $700 in about 4 years (just by putting it up as a product on JVZoo). Of course, doing that will take longer for the income to build up, but in the medium and long-term, it is far more profitable.

Putting an Ebook on JVZoo is very easy, and free. Just follow the instructions there.

I've never done it, but from what I've read, getting a product on ClickBank can be challenging, because you've got to have a lot of sales before you can apply.

Other options include putting the product on Amazon as a Kindle book, which is fairly easy, and as a physical book, which I've not done, but is also said to be not difficult on Amazon these days.

Have you considered adding extras? Like Giving them one extra article of their choice when they order 2 gigs? I wrote an article about making passive income on fiverr (Legit Money Making Sites) and one user here is right about saying that writing gig is very common. But if that's what you really want, do your best to be different.

If you're good with SEO, you can use that to your advantage, like offer your 500-word writing gig plus free keyword research for their next article. Be creative, you'll get where you wanna be if you think outside the box.
