Affiliate Marketing with blogspot.com?

I never heard about anyone that made money with a free website.

Except: at least buy your own domain name and add it to your blogspot account.

then it works - more professional to use your own domain, not blogspot domain

If you really can't invest money right now, write some articles targeting your audience and add 1-2 affiliate links so you can start earning a little money. Then invest the money in buying a domain like George Schwab suggested. You may also eventually invest in hosting.

P.S. I'm not sure if Blogspot allow affiliate links though, you should check their terms and conditions.

I'm surprised that some really decent websites I've run into over the years have been on free hosting. Of course you give up all control but if you don't have the dough for your own domain and hosting, free is a good place to start.

As mentioned, check the TOS but I'm just about positive Adsense is okay. I used affiliate links on blogspot a long time ago and made a few bucks but I don't remember if I was following their TOS are not.

Since you won't have control, make a copy of all your content just in case you get on the bad side of G.
Run blogspot just like you would if you had your own domain and hosting.
You can link to it etc... you won't have pretty linking url's but you can shorten them if you want.

To get success in Affiliate Marketing the most important thing is to get traffic. So as long as you are getting traffic, you have no need to think about anything else. A website is not mandatory for affiliate marketing. There are different ways of getting traffic. You can use Facebook Ads to get traffic. Also Solo Ads is a good way of getting traffic. My ideas for your blogspot if you not have much budget for affiliate marketing (better than not doing anything):

Then yes you can use Blogger but I strongly suggest that you purchase and you use your own domain name. It's not expensive (around 12 USD). If you make money with your blog, you will be able to transfer all your content on your own hosting plan.

Blogspot has deleted a lot of make money type blogs and I believe they continue to do so. If you want to make money online, I'd recommend investing a little bit of money into your own site.

You can make money with blogger. People have had success with it but I am pretty sure you are going to need to figure something out that is not just this. HEY GUYS I HAVE, sorry caps. Hey guys I have a website buy my product. It does not work. Why would I buy your product. The only people who are successful at doing this are leaders or someone people trust or look up to. Too many weird random guys on the internet have sold sketchy products.

Okay now here is where I get serious and actually stop being a troll! To be straight up if you want to be successful you are going to need to build a personal brand and a image. Once you build trust you may sell products that are actually good. Like 10,000 + Visitors + Bluehost = $$. Comes down to professional copy writing and crystal clear heat map optimization to be able to squeeze every buck out of a visitor. I am going ahead of myself now. Bottom line is bro, this is out of our pay grade. Coca Cola can't even sell weight loss pills.

You can make money out of free hosting sites but of course do not expect much of a result. I have a lot of free sites (which supports my main website) for adwords and I earn money from it (not huge but still I earn several dollars). If you really want to be succssful at affiliate marketing, try to invest on a website. Having one will give you more control of your content, which you certainly cannot do for free hosting sites.

If things are really tight then go ahead with the Blogspot setup or even wordpress.com. Alot of marketers on this forum got their start that way. Where a lot of newbies fail before they even start is that they wait until everything is perfect before starting their online ventures. I heard it said that at times you have to take a leap and grow wings on the way down. So it is good you are taking some sort of action. Eventually, you are gonna want to host your own domain and blog. There is an alternative if you have even a miniscule of money amount of spare. You could register a .info for $2.99 at Godaddy and then get free hosting at www.000webhost.com - where you could install your blog. Apparently that free host doesn't come with ads so it seems as if it could be a decent short term answer

I'm actually going to encourage you to try the free way.
You have no money(otherwise you wouldn't be looking for a free solution), you have no experience, no problem, you're just starting and everything is ahead of you.
Most people will tell you to get a domain and hosting, I'm even getting the idea that for some of them this has become a habit, hehe.
Make a free blog using blogspot or wordpress.com, just give it a try, write articles, make videos, create a fanpage, do whatever you want and make those ideas in your head happen, don't get discouraged by not having your own domain yet. Just do it and treat it as a learning experience, see what works, see what doesn't, even if you go with a free blog and no domain, you will still be ahead of many people.
Remember to not get discouraged because of not-great results, have fun with it, eventually you might decide this is the time to switch to premium version and you'll get a domain, or not.
Don't procrastinate just because you can't afford a domain yet or feel like you don't want to do that yet, don't let most people here fool you that you NEED to pay right now to start off.

I started off solely using Blogspot when I first started out. I managed to get two blogs from 0 visitors a day to thousands a day..when I was still in middle school. So yes, you can make money with a Blogspot website.

When people see a subdomain like '.blogspot.com' they subconsciously question if the website is legit or not.

We're conditioned to trust .com, .net, and .org (to name a few) so if you use BlogSpot make sure your content is REALLY good and you have a good design.

To start Affiliate marketing, you don't need a website. However, having one can be of help in long run. Try out one.com, you can get a complete website package at $3 for the first year at the moment. You can have your own control and no need to worry about the terms & conditions.

BlogSpot/Blogger is probably much better at getting Youtube videos (and other content via links for that matter) indexed in Google than your own paid domain is.


BlogSpot/Blogger is also probably better for using as a "parasite" and using some "gray hat" linking techniques.

I suggest you to better move on a self hosted blog. It will give you full control on your content. Blogger have some restrictions and have have some limitations.
