I've been trying to learn about online marketing for about half year now. I'm feeling a bit frustrated because there are so many courses that promise you great results but after I bought them found them not very helpful.

And then I tried to hire a coaching to help me. But after just 1 month he began to be impatient in answering my questions. So I pulled out of his coaching program and he wouldn't even refund half of my money back. So I wasted all my money and didn't get much at all.

This half year hasn't been a good experience. But I really want to make it work.

I even tried to learn about Law of Attraction, but since I started trying to visualize what I want, bad things started to happen. I'm trying my best to cheer myself up and keep going on.

What do you suggest is the best way to continue with online marketing and make it a success? What was your early days like?

Like so many new people trying to make a go of online business, you have succumbed to the "buy, buy, buy" mentality to get started.

Trade that mindset for the "sell, sell, sell" mentality. You can get started for almost nothing.

There are a ton of threads here about how to get going without spending much. Really, all you need is a domain name, inexpensive hosting, an autoresponder account, and your time.

    Good luck to you,

A couple of things I noticed:

    1. About 3 weeks ago you were asking how to add your Adsense code to your site. It still isn't there. No coach or ebook or program is going to be able to help you if you don't do what needs to be done. That's 3 weeks you may have had a chance to make a little bit that instead are wasted.

    2. Your site is about self-improvement type things. Yet, you admit that you can't implement what you are teaching. Have you thought about other areas that you may be more suited to teach?

Most of us struggled in the beginning. Some of us struggled for years before we found our way. Everyone's path to success is different. I hope you find yours.

I think the problem most people who are struggling to make money online is that they are focused on the end result too much.

Because your energy is focused on the end results, you rush through the steps you need to succeed and jump from one project to another before giving yourself a chance to succeed with the first one.

My suggestion would be to stop focusing on the end results and start focusing on the process.

Your goal should be to learn how to do 1 certain thing at a time that will eventually get you to the end results that you are seeking.

So...Decide on a path and stick to it! Celebrate the small accomplishments and then move on to the next step of the process!

If you keep focusing on the end result, then you will eventually become frustrated and will not do the steps that it takes to get that end result!

Do you really expect to have success simply by just "learning" for about a half year?

    You need to take action.

I have a serious question that you need to answer - you don't need to give the answer here but you need to acknowledge it on your own...

Have you actually spent any significant time doing anything to build a business?

You say you bought many courses, how many of those did you actually implement?

Also, visualizing doesn't work if that's all you're doing...

The whole point of visualizing is to create a vision that encourages you to put in the work.

    Regards,
    Daniel

MMO is a harder game now than say 3 yrs ago , now you have to be on your game to make some $$ , I would suggest you have a hard think on what you want out of this MMO

Why I write that is you have a piss por attitude and by the looks of it you just want it served to you ! and that ain't going to happen

If you purchase a course or hire a coach do not go looking for refund because you may as well give up now and find a JOB ( just on broke) mindset has to be right

Find one thing and get good at it and the rest will be easy , remember attitude will give you altitude if you do it right the first time and take it slowly

Not sure go on you tube there are thousands of tuts you can learn off

    1) Stop buying miracles methods. There is no miracle method. You can study for free what you need to know on

    a) this forum,
    b) typing your question into Google,
    c) You Tube.

    2) The vast majority of websites do not make money. Bring your expectations to a more realistic level. You will not become rich in a few weeks.

    3) Concentrate on one thing. Persevere. Become excellent. And success will come gradually.

    4) Personally I started as a web content writer in French. Then I worked as a SEO to other websites. Then I played online poker. Then I made my own websites. And I did well in all these activities.

    Good luck!

P.S. I agree with what everyone else said in this thread.

You want to some good tips? Here they are:
    • Law of Attraction is largely BS as you have experienced yourself. Just because you imagine something doesn't mean it will magically appear. Does something like that even make any logical sense? Hoping for something to magically appear just because you imagine it is almost like hoping that you will win the lottery, except you actually have a chance, albeit a small one, at winning the lottery if you play.
    • If you want to make IM work, you have to get properly targeted traffic and sell something of value to that traffic.
    • Find a way on your own, no one will give you the magical bullet that will start generating you an income.

Like what some of us suggested here.
As long as you LEARN and TAKE ACTION, results will come.
One thing though, just pick a model and be CONSISTENT with it.
Don't jump from building one website to another.
Don't switch one program to another.
    Don't shift your focus.
Take action and be consistent and stay in building 1 website with 1 model until you make money.

It takes time to build reputation. Be a honest seller and try to help your customers. Use Facebook and other social media to advertise your site. You can also use adsfly advertising to get traffic to your site. Google it if you want to know how to use those services. But remember website content is above all. If you have rich content in your web page, a little advertising will bring you business.

One step at a time. Learn first about the basics of online marketing. Read blogs, watch videos and visit different forums. You could learn a lot from it. Focus first on what you want to offer. Create an objective. Make a list on how you will be able to achieve that objective.

Hi my friend I am glad you have not given up.

There are so many of us who had a terrible first half of the game and then had a great 2nd half and won the game.

You just have to focus on making someone else a success really.

Find a product/service and match it to the person that would really appreciate it and then YOU will start feeling successful and our bank account will prove it.

I have mixed feelings on Law of Attraction. I do know people that are walking rain clouds and some are walking sunshine so really the key is no matter what cards you are dealt just play it through to the best of your ability. Then deal with the next set of cards you are dealt the same way.

You can not have a "why does this always happen to me" mentality because you are programming the brain with a false premise and it will go to work to find evidence to make you right even if you are wrong.

So program your brain to say what can I learn from this and improve on for the future and your brain will go to work on getting you to where you want to be.

    Keke,
It might be helpful if there were a better definition of "online marketing" or "internet marketing"...
It seems to me that too many folks latch on to these terms as an idea that money can be made by just 'marketing' something online.

I don't really see a lot of people asking a lot of questions about 'print marketing' or 'infomercial marketing' or 'television' or 'radio' marketing. (If you look for it you can find it, but here on WF it seems the majority is into 'internet marketing').

    A mindset-
I have a good product or service that is valuable to a well defined segment of the greater market and I am choosing the internet as opposed to magazine and newspapers to market my product to my intended audience.

Do you see how that identifies 'internet marketing' as one of several different channels a product can be brought to market with- as opposed to 'I'll make some money doing internet marketing'?

If what you are really after is 'make money online' I might suggest developing a skill that you can sell as a service and then apply what you have learned here on WF to market that service to potential customers.

I hope this makes a bit of sense, if not, feel free to PM me.

See first and the most important thing is you won't get success in online marketing that easily. That's the bitter truth and I think all these ebooks and coaching are a waste. Just read articles and practice them on your blog. You will face failures. But those failures are actually your experiences and you will get better and better with time.

Welcome to the change! You know as soon as you create some goals and plans the challenges start to come. You have left and right up and down, south and north and you have good and you have bad.

Both are going to be there and your not going to change that. It's what you do with what you get the counts. Every bad that or at least seems bad at the moment has an opposite side to it which is the good and its our job to find that.

We have the power of choice.

Do not focus on the end results. Do not just focus on what you want. Instead, learn and understand what your target market wants. Customers are the bloodline of your business and you have to take care of them. Provide them services and products that would make them feel satisfied.

Learn how to build a real business? Try to make money by offering value, not by offering promises, or catchy headlines, or gimmicks. Offer real things and people will give you real money for it. The problem with a lot of the advice out there is that it's "get rich quick" advice and that kind of advice is often skipping corners. If you had to build your own house, would you want the cheapest instructions for "building a house quick"? If no, then why would you do that for your business?

I read an article today about "Tough-Minded People", that really helped a lot. The article says:"Tough-minded people have grit at their core. They are persistent and resilient in the face of failure, loss, success and challenge.
The tough minded are born with the fortitude and temperament to get back up and keep going through all failure or adversity." I guess that's really how I need to be. Here's the link for this article: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/252993

Hi there, don't get disheartened by it all.
Right now a positive mindset is very important, keep yourself motivated. Cornel Sanders didn't succeed in making the second largest ever franchise until he was 60, and he tried his whole life (Never Give Up)

You need to make goals and physically cross them off day by day.
Be sure to know why you are doing this and how it's going to change you life, visualisation is a good thing as long as your implementing your strategy along side it.

First, pick a solid market or product that you understand or is established, attractive and sellable.
I would then use a mix of free and paid traffic to generate leads that will drive them to your blog/product in the goal of becoming a respectable authority figure in the niche.

Aim on providing your leads with value.
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." ~ Albert Einstein
    The success will follow.

Giving free targeted information that is congruent with the product/programme you're selling is essential to good marketing which means you should be reading or learning a little everyday to provide additional value. Don't sit on the fence with this, you get paid proportionately to the amount of value that you provide.

The rest is all technical stuff that you will find elsewhere. Blog/website/landing-page/auto-resposnder etc.

    I hope this helps

    Good Luck!

Wow. It is really sad to say but the number one obstacle that gets in the way of most marketers in my opinion is other marketers.

What comes after the big mega launch series of emails you got for 2 weeks every day...the next big launch!

Hypnotic sales copy has probably also contributed to more going in circles while emptying wallets at the same time.

One thing every successful marketer will have in common is a good understanding of how they are being marketed to and how to control impulses and still know when to make smart strategic investments to grow their business.
