Are keyword tools necessary after finding main keywords?

I'm using longtailpro (like most of us) its great and everything, but I've already got my main keywords for 2 different niches and I'm thinking of writing down most of the keywords along with the information the tool provides, and just cancel my subscription for now. I know this sounds like common sense but will I need the tool after a couple of months after launching my sites?

Depends on the site and how often you'll be posting new content.

I take a content marketing / blogger approach, so it makes sense that I will constantly be looking for new keywords and longtails for my content.

I certainly recommend publishing on a regular basis. Sites that do so get a lot more traffic and build a base of regular readers. That builds a lot more trust than a static site.

You could always do a year's worth of research in advance and cancel, but if you're like me, you'll probably get new ideas on a regular basis.

Thanks, I do have about 700 keywords between the 2 niches I choose and thats setting it to 300 or more searches a month. Also I have 8 other product categories within 1 of those niches and about 5 other total different niche ideas that would take time as I plan to write all the content my self, which brings me to another question I have, do you think its possible to write at least 2 articles a day whether it be reviews or whatever? and thats with 4-5 hours work at night. Or should I outsource? because my writing is pretty top notch I constantly compare it to competing websites in the niches I'm in and their content just can't match mine, though it does take me time to write.

First, you're wrong about the "most of us" part. There are better services, including free services, but it's your money.

When a keyword tool advertises "Find up to 800 keywords per seed keyword" guess where the data is coming from? Yep, the free Google Keyword Tool which provides up to 800 keywords per main keyword, plus competitive analysis.

Relying on the Google keyword tool, or any tool relying on the Google keyword tool, is a terrible newbie mistake and can mean missing out on thousands of keywords.

Second, that said, long tail keywords can be critically important and may collectively result in more money than a generic 'main' keyword.

Additionally, for SEO purposes being able to rank high for a "lesser" keyword can have a positive impact across your entire site (eg, domain authority), helping you be more competitive for more valuable keywords.

My suggestion: you need to be digging deeper into your keyword research - well beyond some paid tool sold on ClickBank of all crap things.
