Nice Website, popular niche, pretty editors, stealing articles

I found a professional site in a popular niche that looks like it has everything together. It looks good, it has a nice about page with a couple of pretty female editors/owners, it has ads and lots of content.

The only problem is that the article content is coming from EzineArticles and they don't include the author box on any of them, nor do they include a byline. To a casual reader it looks like the content is all theirs. I found it because one of my articles is there and it was only submitted once to EzineArticles.

I wonder how common this is...geez.

I should add that the site belongs to a national magazine. Just amazing.

Then I'll bet they have stringent plagiarism policies in place. I'd contact them.

Could they be using an independent contractor for that site? If so, they may not know what's happening.

This sounds like a IM Fantasy story. One of those story that hardcore IMer read late in the night.

She was pretty. No, scratch that. She was beyond pretty, beyond sexy. They all were--every last thieving one of them. The minute Scott saw her, he was smitten. He knew then and there he would give her anything she asked for--and he wouldn't put up a fight. His articles. His soul. She owned them now. And he knew. He knew. He would never see them again. And a part of him didn't care.

    Hi Scott,

I could say join the club but it does not make the bitter pill any easier to swallow.

It has happened to me a few times.

I put a lot of effort into my writing and it really hacks me off when the due recognition isn't given. Fortunately these pirates are few and far between by comparison (well, I hope so).

The best one though was when EZA bounced an article as duplicate and belonging to someone else. I had to prove by date checks that the actual content was taken from one of my website pages which had been set up months before the thief had taken it and submitted the content as his own to EZA.

I too recently found a few of my articles taken from EZA and GoArticles and my resource boxes not used. I think i am unwillingly getting use to this.

So what CAN you actually do about it??? Could you somehow date it and put a Google Alert on it?

What about some secret coding that would take down their site, should they dare to copy your hard work? (Think Pacman, gooble, gooble, gooble, lol).

Or, upon threspassing your property (article), add quite a few wrinkles to their former pretty faces, ha, ha, ha.

Scott, consider yourself honored, at least someone thought your article was good enough to replicate and take honor-ship of it.

Seriously though, I would be p****d off myself. Go get em'

Let's see what happens. I am sending the hosting company and the magazine a cease and desist.
