This is a new tv show with joan rivers profiling millionaires homes and stories.

Its like cribs but for non famous people.

Something really caught my attention the other day. It was a guy who had a dating membership site making $80 million/month. Thats over a billion dollars a year.

Its a sugar daddy dating site, with a $40/month membership. it has 2 million active subscribers.

How many other profitable membership sites do you know that pull in $80 million a month.

When I read "dating site," I immediately assumed it was plentyoffish.com. The guy who runs that site posted on a forum a few years back detailing how got the site started and he claims he's making quite good money. His only income source is (or was at the time) Adsense. The site attracts so many people because it's free to sign up and contact members, and there are free forums, as well. A lot of people join just to ask relationship questions on the forums. You've got to think, though, with what the dating affiliate programs pay, they must be making some decent money.

Yeah ive read plenty about the plentyoffish guy. He is pulling in 10 mill a year from that site just from advertisements. that is awesome.

But this dude is pulling in 80mill a month. I still cant get my mind around it.

This key to this is the niche and the demographic he is marketing too. Sugar daddies aka millionaires dont care about a measly $40/month.

So instead of chasing young model types they can find them on the site. he helped unite to groups of people who wouldnt mind paying that kind of money.

How many other membership sites can be used targeting big money individuals in a certain niche??

I think the show is great! A new refreshing idea on the subject of entrepreneurship from the ground up. This is literally a spin on Robin Leaches Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous as well as Donnie Deutchs "Big Idea" (off air right now).

I also like how TV Land.com has utilized the internet. The video streaming on a DSL connection is unbelievable. It is as clear as a HDTV!!

The only bad thing I DON"T like about the show, is I don't think it's in the right time slot & it the re-runs do come on often enough. These are inspirational times. They need to either put it on a main stream channel like NBC or put the time slot at 9pm and at 11pm and 1am. Man, I wish I was in t.v.! The other bad thing is that the site needs to utilize more social networking aspects to communicate directly with Joan Rivers. The last thing is, that although Joan Rivers is funny, I think the show would take off with a younger female protege along side of her. I mean, women entrepreneurs is growing heavily & as always, sex sells

You guys are stating false information. The site has presumably has 2 million members, and the site charges $40/month. That's the current accuracy that is verifiable. I've seen the site.

The site may have had a TOTAL of 2 million subscribers, or maybe even 2 million monthly subscriptions sold. That would put the TOTAL earnings at $80 million. Not $80 million per month

I just didnt think it was possible. I didnt think you could achieve those numbers with a membership site. This just really amazed me. I figured if i felt that way about a membership site then maybe others would feel the same way.

Now i honestly cant say if the guy in the video is still making that kind of money or if he even has 2 million active members. But simple math will tell you that 2,000,000 members at $40/month is $80 mill a month. Is is still like that now??? do all 2 million members pay?? is it net or gross?? who knows. I cant confirm or deny any of that information, but if your putting out that kind of info on Tv. Then maybe its true.

Maybe thats why im still unsuccessful in IM. Those numbers just seem unrealistic to me. I know its just more zero's as others would say. But when your barely making $80 dollars a month, $80 million a month just seems like something you would only see on the silver screen. Or on TV...

I'm successful in IM and those numbers still seem unrealistic. Unless you have a major corporation with hundreds (maybe thousands) of employees, $80 million a month is something you would only see on the silver screen.

There will always be someone who makes more than you. Focus on what you have to do to live the lifestyle you want and don't judge your success versus others.

80 million a month or 80 million total doesnt matter. it is more than most of us will achieve in our lifetime combined and gives us something to aim for. what can be learned from this experience is that no matter how silly the idea if you narrow down the right target audience with a product that has demand and virtually no competition then the opportunities are endless.
