Did the Kindle crack down on TOC tricks knock out top authors in your category?

There's been some noise in many online passive income forums regarding Amazon's crack down on TOC shenanigans. Some scammers apparently were able to milk the Kindle Unlimited program by instructing the readers of their books to read the end of their books first and then read backwards. They were able to do this using the table of contents or something similar.

My question is, did this really have a tremendous and sizable impact on a wide range of categories or are these basically just activities that happened in the fringes? Put more directly, have you ever come across a report or a post indicating that a top author got knocked out because of such shenanigans?

As with all of the other times when there has been a rumor about kindle, my answer is the same:

    Nothing changed.

I wouldn't be suprised if people who pulled the trick got banned on Amazon Kindle.

The good news is publishers don't have to resort to such tricks.

You can structure your book in an ETHICAL and content quality-driven way so people READ the whole book.

No tricks. Just know how to create a NATURAL emotionally-driven progression for your book.
