ALL FORUM RULES: New Forum Rules Update - Collated June 8, 2016 by Admin

It seems not many users that come on here these days read many of the forum rules. Now it has become easier to find out what is allowed here and what is not.

Yes, the post is a sticky down in the Warrior Forum News section which gets about 64 visits a week.

So, while this post may not belong in this section, I think it needs to be called attention too. Probably in every section, if you ask me.

Anyway, here is the link to ALL of the Forum Rules in one concise post, and the related discussion. For members and member mods alike..this is an excellent thread.

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...rum-rules.html

Two of my favorites...

Posting must add value to the relevant discussion. To thank someone for a contribution use the ‘thanks’ button or upvote the discussion.
Violation of any of these rules by a user can result in a warning up to permanent account suspension. The course of action will depend upon the severity of the situation, the nature of the violation and past behaviour.
Cheers

Guess you didn't read them yourself Don.
Your sig file has already broken rules 1 and 5

LoL - that ain't excessive use of special characters. C'mon, man.

I know that darn single blank space makes it in violation, I was going to delete it before I posted and I spaced it out. A bit of a surprise, since yesterday the rule was still 5 lines as far as I knew. I was running a 3 liner...

It's the first rule that jumped out at me, no doubt.

It looks like like they are trying to sell more sig images with that rule change, eh?

      Fixing it now. Thanks, brotha.

It didn't say excessive use of special characters, it said excessive use of
        capitalization, then note the comma,
and it goes on to say : special characters will result in deletion/editing by an admin.

I read it, about four times now.

I don't think they will be ruling 3 Asterisks on each side of my fourm rules link will be too many special characters. I also don't think they will be ruling two 6 character arrows pointing to my WSO offer will be ruled excessive either. The capitalization? Pfffft....

          LMAO...

          Cheers

But then where do you draw the line?
Maybe they should edit it to:
"Sig files may only be written with letters of the alphabet"
'cos there will always be one trying to bend the rules.

Not my problem. Generally speaking, I almost never like rules that are not clearly defined. All I can do is my best to adhere to them.

My suggestion to you is --> go ahead and make that point on the actual news thread and see if you can get a more specific definition added to the Change Log, if that's a change you want to see made.

Moss is taking suggestions on revisions.

              Cheers

I think I have more than made up for my two line + one space sig with my new sig. Looking good now, eh?

Gonna be a lotta peeps needing to change..

    1. Excessive use of capitalization, special characters will result in deletion/editing by an admin.
    2. Sig files may only be written in the normal standard font size.
    3. Sig file text may only be black.
    4. You may bold or italicize it.
    5. Maximum length of sig file is 2 lines which includes any blank lines used for spaces. This excludes an image.
    6. Your signature must link to your own domain or a listing owned by you on any of the Warrior Market Places. If you have paid for an image signature you are exempt from this rule.
    7. Your signature cannot link to any of the blacklisted content types as detailed in Rule 4.10 below.
    Cheers

So - you post threads announcing the new rules...and you define them, too.

Tell some new jokes, your old ones are going stale. And most folks on here may need more than the 6 minutes that it took me to comply with the rules.

Yourself, not quite so fast I'm thinking.

Duplicate posting ---> tell us how many peeps are going to read the rules prior to posting when the rules are in one of the least viewed sections of the site...average viewership on regular days of about 3-5 members.

It's about time for a few folks on here to start thinking about wising up.

        Thanks

Bumping threads is not against the rules.

I mention this because this is something you and others complain about a lot and unless the rules are changed there is no more room for complaining.

Resurrecting old threads isn't in there either.

Likewise -a common complaint about a support type question such as "Why did FB ban my account?" with an answer of "why don't you ask FB" results in the answer not being a valuable contribution. Any normal person should know that they can and probably should ask FB this question but they want help here. They want insights, tricks, experiences, etc. not a canned answer they can read on an FB support page. So the answer doesn't add any of that and therefore could be determined to add no value.

        Mark

Not a problem... I didn't define them, I merely interpreted them. Big difference.

    2. Contributing to the Forum

    1. Excessive use of capitalization, special characters, colours or font/image size will result in deletion/editing by an admin of the title and/or body of the post.

    2. We retain the right to move threads to more suitable sub forums where applicable.

    3. Posting must add value to the relevant discussion. To thank someone for a contribution use the ‘thanks’ button or upvote the discussion.

    4. Excessive consecutive posts in a single thread by the same author may be merged into one post.
Too bad they do not exercise that right when it comes to all the new crap articles posted by Freelancer associates

    Thanks Don.
Although we have had silly spats in the past I must say you have really contributed highly here at WF.
And you continue to do so. Probably more than anyone here.

    Much appreciated !!

Thank you, Robert...I really appreciate that. I do try to help as many members as I can each and every time I login here. And as far as members go, IMO, you are one of the best that we still have left on here. Your positive attitude and kindness clearly stand out.

Thanks Don - I am one of the ones that would have never seen this.

Now to add value so I don't break a rule...

Thanks to WF for reviewing and updating some of the rules! Now if they actually start enforcing them I will be even happier.

Rules are the rules, most people don't realise that by using a service - you are actually accepting their TOS, Privacy policy and Rules...
