What's reasonable split for someone who sends business my way?

I've got a friend, also a website developer, who sometimes sends business my way. Sometimes this is because I have different expertise than he does. What's a reasonable wholesale rate to charge? If I charge my full rate, he makes no commission. I'd like to offer him wholesale pricing so he makes some money as well. I'm thinking a 75/25 split. Is that reasonable? Or maybe 70/30? I have no clue.

Thanks,

Both seem quite reasonable. I'd also make a distinction regarding who's facing the client. It sounds like he's the one who's dealing with the client, and then subcontracting you, in which case 70/30 feels more fair to me. If he introduces them to you and then completely steps aside, then 80/20 would seem more reasonable.

      David,

Okay, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I think that sounds reasonable too.
