Creating online applications. Any tips?

I've been messing around with Thomas Belknap's Tiger Software Builder: really cool and powerful, but it only creates standalone windows apps. I'd like to be able to create something for my members to use while logged into my site (it's wordpress based), and was wondering if there are any similar app builders for this purpose?

I'm not looking to build anything too complex -- just a program that allows folks to store useful info, links, keep track of stuff...that sort of thing. And to make it, I'd like something that operates like Tiger Software Builder, which easily creates software without having to know coding and the like.

I know I can go to elance and hire someone, but I'd like to try my hand at doing it myself.

Any thoughts?

    Jon,
check out Robert Plank's Wordpress on Crack product - it might be what you're looking for, or at least help out. There's a link for it on his personal site at robertplank.com.

    good luck,

without doing any coding it is going to be pretty difficult to build an online app. If you don't know how to code, try breaking your project down into components, and build a visual representation of it in html. Then you can farm out the various components to programmers to get it to actually do something.

Also, once you have broken it down, you can search for code that can accomplish the tasks. There is a ton of open source out there to accomplish almost anything.

ps: check out the app in my signature; very simple using forms, a bit of php, and google operators. version 2.0 will be a lot more challenging!
