Tips for Creating Content
1. Originality
Search engines such as Google give you a very harsh treatment if your content is duplicated from another site. Your content gets no importance whatsoever on the search engines if you've only copied stuff from another website. However, originality doesn't only mean that your content shouldn't be just duplicated. You also need to make sure that you do not hire freelancers who have below average skills and only spin content. Some marketers think that creating lots of content will help them attract a lot of customers but that's not true. If your content is dull, the traffic will start to retract and your reputation will face a fatal blow. Your ideas need to be original and unique so that it creates frenzy in the market and people start to follow your trends.
If you want to create original content with revolutionary ideas, you need to hire professionals. I know, most startups don't have the financial assets to hire such professionals but there are good freelancers out there with commendable reputation who can help you out at an affordable price.
2. Intriguing Headlines
What is the first thing that your customers will put their eyes on? Yes, it's the headline. It's similar to how humans socialize. If they like someone at first glance and it arouses curiosity in them, they will be compelled to know about them.
(a) If your headlines can arouse the same curiosity in people, then people will be bound to click on it and read on.
(b) Follow the trends. People like headlines which are mostly lists or guide them step by step to a solution.
(c) Search engine optimization is in vogue nowadays if used effectively. If you've stuffed words that do not attract your readers just for the sake for SEO purposes, then you are making things worse for yourself rather than making them better.
(d) If you can create content that can appeal to the readers and can stimulate them at an emotional level, then that could really help you.
(e) If you have concrete data that can back up your content, then incorporate it and you content will automatically become more dependable.
3. Be terse and give answers
There's no point in creating content that is lengthy and only makes the readers search for answers. You need to create content that is terse and gives solutions. For example, if you have written a blog post on how to make a pizza. Don't start the blog post by telling the history of pizza and other cockamamie. The readers always have a habit of skipping pass such paragraphs. If you can just stipulate the simple points which will help them find a solution, your content will definitely be more effective in luring clientele.
4. Info graphics and Videos
The content is always better when you incorporate info graphics in it. If you can make content that is visual then you'll get more traffic. You might have observed this on social media websites. Whenever you post an image, it will have many likes and comments. However, if you post an article or written content, it has a greater possibility of getting lesser views than the visual content.
5. Post Controversial content
Controversial topics always attract more traffic. It incites the people and they start to form sides and argue with each other on the given topic. I recently did a blog post on 'what women should do in a relationship but don't'. I added some controversial points in that blog post and it got people talking. Some of the conservative people had a different opinion and the newer generation had different views. You might have observed that a religious or a political matter always gets more attention and the media have always used this to their advantage. They also write headlines that will make people question the morality behind it.
6. Humor
Humor is always something that will drive a lot of traffic to your website. Most of the viral videos on the internet have the quality of being really funny. Most of these videos get shared a lot because everyone likes a good laugh now and then in this world where there is so much chaos. It distracts people from their harsh realities. Although, you don't have to create content that is not related to your business. You can always create humorous content for your customers in any business. You just need to think out of the box sometimes and create content which can stimulate a hysterical laughter.
7. Timing
This is one of the most essential things when it comes to sharing your content. If you share your content at times when your audience is not active, then it will go to waste and all your hard work will be for nothing. You need to study your target audience and get information about their time zones and adjust your schedule according to theirs for more productive results.
Even if you employ all the above tactics, there is still a possibility that you will not see an immediate rise in your traffic Patience is quintessential here and content marketing is a gradual process. In time, you'll be able to get the results you want.
