What's Your Internet Marketer's Metamorphosis Phase?

What am I talking about? What in the world is this supposed to mean? Well, I don't know if it's just me, but something is happening with marketers on such a scale that you can notice certain patterns. Where are patterns, there are theories. Right? Well, my theory says that every single Internet marketers have to go through these metamorphosis phases, more or less, sooner or later. Very few go through all of these phases in a reasonable period of time. Most of them get stuck somewhere along the way in one of the phases. Yes, one of my points is that there aren't too many butterflies among Internet marketers. Yet, this doesn't mean that we are doomed to spend our entire marketer's life in one of these phases. In addition, it's definitely worth discussing a real possibility to skip some of the last desirable phases.

So, here they are:

1st Phase - I'm so excited

Very similar to a kid, who has just discovered a new toy or a game. You're enthusiastic, but also not focused. You run from one idea to another. It's hard to decide what to do or where to go next. This is undoubtedly a very intense, but also very short phase. Unless, you miss an opportunity to focus on a specific task, you can easily end up being trapped in this phase's loop or you give it up. I have noticed that some guys like to repeat this phase more than once. At the same time, when you are enthusiastic and feel positive about something you share with others, which is definitely a good news.

2nd Phase - I'll always hate you

Once you get tired of constant excitement with no results, you become a hater. In this phase, you don't encourage people, but rather justify your failure with the number of others, who also failed to move on. Internet marketers in this phase tend to be restless critics, who attack every single breath of fresh enthusiastic air. They're also helpless conspiracy fans. They know why the Internet marketing isn't working, but they keep them for themselves. It's also possible to move quite often from first to second phase and back, more than once. The overwhelming majority of Internet marketers gets trapped in these two phases.

3rd Phase - Rationalization

If you manage to go through the phase of being extremely thrilled and then disappointed, you can find yourself in the rationalization zone. This is the very moment when you realize for the first time that you aren't going to achieve all of your Internet marketing goals so easily. Yet, this is the time when you see new opportunities through learning and research. This is a critical phase when you have to make first marketer's steps that matter. How long you're going to stay in this phase, it's really hard to tell.

4th Phase - The Pro Phase

In this phase all marketers, who have done a successful homework during rationalization can expect some first obvious results. You begin to earn money and spread your activities. At the same time, you're still learning and improving in this field. It sounds like an annoying phrase, but in your Pro phase, Internet marketing is no longer an experiment, but rather a serious and profitable activity. I dare to say a way of life.

5th Phase - The Guru Phase

When you reach this stage, it means that you're ready to teach other marketers rather than to learn from them. Now, I'm fully aware that you're eager to hear how many marketers end up in these two last and profitable phases. I can't tell you for sure, but here's something I picked up along the way. One marketer's rumor has it that only one percent of all marketers end up in the Pro zone. Understandably, only one percent of this one percent is blessed with an opportunity of becoming an Internet marketing guru.

Conclusion

It's pretty much obvious that I'm stuck more or less voluntarily in the first phase. I don't believe that I'm going to successfully finish my metamorphosis and become a beautiful and more importantly a successful Internet marketing butterfly. Yet, I'm also sure that I'm going to skip the hatred phase. That's simply not my style.
