Would adding a trademark and disclaimer affect conversion rate?

I sell refill solution to refill Braun self cleaning shaver cartridges to save people money and Braun's lawyers contacted me asking me to add the trademark next to their brand name (Braun® instead of Braun) and a disclaimer saying these refills aren't affiliated, guaranteed or endorsed by Braun but I think well over 99% of my customers are fully aware of this so I doubt that would have had much impact.

Unless it's a coincidence, despite increased traffic, the conversion rate has gone down considerably approximately around the time these changes were made.

Do you think this is related and is there anything I can do?

The website is CCRRefills.com

Thank you

I doubt it is a coincidence (there is a real reason)...

but I also don't think the drop in conversion rate has anything to do with the addition of the registered trademark symbol, nor the disclaimer.

Try to determine what has changed about the traffic you are receiving.
    • Why has the traffic increased?
    • What is the source of the increased traffic?

Footnote - Your page is in need of a "facelift". Conversions could be increased to some degree just by having a more professional looking site.

I don't do this often but I agree with Sid about your website. I don't know what your conversions were or are now, but I am pretty sure that they would increase if you made your site look a little more professional.

Conversion was around 3.5-4% and is now about 2%.

I fully agree on the website look, I need to get this done ASAP. Any idea where I could get the design redone for around $200?

    Thanks
