- able to capture the desktop screen & also the speaker simultaneously.

        Now that you mention Mac...

        Screenflow is your best bet.

Sony Vegas is what I consider as the best video editor if you pay for it. While recording, I always utilize one free recorder named as ShowMore. It works well in capturing screen and audio. And you can get it from Cnet.

Thanks all for the feedback. Just to check is there any free software available that can do the same function?

Camtasia, I think even the Quick time player built on the mac can do that too already.

I use Corel Video Studio Pro X7 and Corel ScreenCap X7. Affordable, easy, lots of features, and runs very well (even on a mid end system that I use to have).

I'm personally using Camtasia Studio for capturing my screen, and Sony Vegas for editing.
You can use Camtasie for both capturing and editing.
There is also screen-o-matic, but Camtasia is better for me.

Hey, have a try on this free application ( ShowMore - Record, upload and share your video easily on web ) that works well to record the desktop screen. This web-based screen recording tool can customize the recording area. And you can draw some marks and edit words on the recording region. Also you can record audio from system sound and microphone or either or none.
