Any direct Host Gator affiliate? (Not cj)

Have you received payout for June? They said by end of this month. I have not received anything yet and am wondering if I should bug them about it or be patient. It's my first (and only) sale for them and I know the account is still active because they still have me make periodic updates to their site.

Send them a support request. There may be a reason they are holding it.

I just got my Hostgator payout for June today (just a few hours ago via Paypal). Perhaps they are still in the process of processing the payments.

    Cheers,
    Suzanne

    Hav,

Sorry to hear that! This is why have a reseller account. I'd rather pay myself then beg Hostgator for the commission.

I personally think there is something shady going on with the Hostgator affiliate program. I've had 6 people sign up under me in the past few months and have only been paid for one. Also, i only received one confirmation email out of all of those sign ups. I tried contacting them about it, but they made it seem like it can't be proved whether these people signed up under me or not.

I haven't promoted Hostgator in over a year. Back when I was they consistently messed me around. Moved payment dates to avoid me going over thresholds and all kinds of rubbish.

It's not how I expect to be treated as an affiliate so I took my business elsewhere.

    I got paid today.

They did try to shave a referral for a dedicated server from me by claiming that the buyer did not go through my affiliate link. I was able to prove i was the referrer and I did eventually get paid for that one.

That taught me a lesson and now I am a reseller.

Please forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between an affiliate and a reseller? Why do they pay resellers better than an affiliate? All new to this, any explanation would be very much appreciated, thank you, Eva

When you open a reseller account you either lease a dedicated box or you get a different level of access to a shared box. After you set up the site correctly you become the provider. You sell hosting accounts that are hosted on your box and you collect the monthly payments directly from your customers.

It seems that you have to keep meticulous records with hostgator. I think you might have something ... just become a reseller. Makes sense
