This Is Why I Love Bing ... !!

Apart from Bing Ads having one of the best high quality traffic online - It provides a great positive ROI.

Just take a look at this guy who had his account recently banned by Bing Ads...

Here's why I love Bing Ads:

✓ 87% of Bing users come from Internet Explorer!
✓ Users of Bing are generally less-techy (convert without much hype)
✓ Bing searchers are for the most part, 35+ in age.(unlike teenagers, they are likely to spend more)
✓ Bing searchers are more likely to have children, based on their age.
✓ 85% of people who use Bing are in the US
✓ The unique searchers on the Yahoo Bing Network spend 23% more online than the average Internet searcher.

Solid post CC, A few of those stats I was not aware of or had not connected with higher income and more mature demographics. May also affect what you should pitch to Bing users.

Please provide your source for these claims.

My own current data doesn't agree at all. From the last 30 days of one site:

21% from IE is nowhere near the 87% you claim.

The other numbers don't jibe with my campaigns either.

Right, 5 years is like 500 years in internet history.

They still have traffic today but it's not like the heyday years ago.

BTW, that SEL chart is from Chitika, one of the worst affiliate networks ever (even in 2011).

If you bought a New Windows PC, IE comes built-in with Bing being the primary Search engine, and Bing users just don't bother with changing to another OS or maybe they don't know how to do so.

Personally, I prefer Bing over Google for accurate searching, Google just doesn't understand what I'm trying to find... A lot of people acknowledge the fact that Bing comes out with more relevant search results than Google!

... Plus they reward you with Gift cards and shit for using them as your primary search engine.

My inlaws are in their late 60s, they use Gmail (Google) running WinXP (lol). They don't use Hotmail or Bing.

Yikes...thats why I didn't know some of those stats. 5 year old stats for browser usage is forever. However if you include Edge as IE usage and people still using older versions of IE older than 10 its higher than general usage (which is to be expected).

Yep, anyone can post random percentage numbers.

Obviously Bing has traffic, look at AOL, they still have traffic in 2016.

BTW, the OP screenshot is kinda silly, IMers slip between the cracks on PPC, it happens, they get banned, they move on...

    Yeah Bing is pretty badass...

Not sure what the point of a post from another forum in 2013 has anything to do with it though?

3 years ago isn't exactly recent.

    City Cowboy,

It's sad that you would hang your hat on what a random stranger said on a public forum over 3 years ago.

Especially when he was claiming "500-1,000% ROI daily."

Can I put a little reality into your thinking?

Do you have any idea what kind of income that would bring?

Let me show you just one week's worth:

Here's a short one-week scenario if you made just 500% ROI daily, invested $100 just once on the first day, and reinvested profits back into the same system each day:

    Day 1: $500
    Day 2: $2,500
    Day 3: $12,500
    Day 4: $62,500
    Day 5: $312,500
    Day 6: $1,562,500
    Day 7: $7,812,500

Almost $8 million in the first week! Yipee! Zippity Doo Dah, Zippity Aaa!

Yeah, that certainly sounds reasonable to me . . .

yea that sounds like a lot, but I didn't take it that way, I think he meant 500% on his whole Ad campaign and for sure - NOT every single day!

Though I agree with Steve its probably an embellishment in a small high paying niche you can't project it out like that. Increasing spend does not result in the same percentage increase even in a moderately wide niche. It all depend on what was being sold.

The guy said that was his daily ROI.

What you're saying proves my point . . . which is . . . people can say anything online and you never know for sure what is true, especially regarding income. People say stuff all the time that is wrong, untruthful, outright a lie. These people are scamming others who believe in their word.

Don't believe it. The guy is not telling the truth.

Curious to know in what niche market that person was and what keywords was being used.

Another experienced marketer suggested me to use Bing also, tried it for a little bit but didn't see a ROI for those campaigns.

I'm sure that with more testing I could probably find a sweet spot at some point.

Not a whole lot of people agree there but I think your post has value pointing out the targeting of those with families and older demographic. Heres a more recent finding (about 18 month ago)

A lot of the time I find people saying Facebook doesn't work or stick with Google for the most traffic but if you know and understand the demographics we've seen very good results

    CC,

    Thanks for the info!

That is very exciting. I've been investigating this recently and Bing is also a lot less expensive than Google.

One guy I was talking to recently said that if you haven't been banned by your marketing platform a few times then you're not marketing hard enough... :-)

Not sure if anyone else in SEO has noticed, but Google is starting to slip with its long term goals in response to short term gains for shareholders. Now with 4 ads above the organic results, competitive queries don't even display the first result fully without requiring the user to scroll-down.

Combine this with the arc-nemesis Cutts and Google's crusade against webmasters attempting to rank good quality content organically, and Bing is starting to look very attractive. I'd love to see nothing more than for Google's overzealousness to backfire and Bing to take the throne, even if it is the old Micro$ that takes the place, I'd say right now it's the lesser of the two evils. At least one company is honest about it and doesn't play the entire "don't be evil" irony.
