Warrior Forum Is Going Back To Paid Status Effective Immediately

I just wanted to see a couple of things...

First, I've been wanting to join the war room all year but had it filed in with the other 'should join but not urgent' list of sites

I had it in my head that subscription was $60/month so it wasnt as important as the info marketing association or nanacast account.

After reading Allens post, I went ahead and joined only to realise the cost is only $37 for the next 20 years. If I had looked more closely, then I would have joined ages ago and feel kinda silly now.

But I'm now an official War Room member and I dont feel so left out anymore. So I suppose there is nothing left to do but lock the door, stock up on drinks and spend the next 5 days reading absolutely everything in there.

If you havent joined yet.... DO IT, DOOOO IT!

I think this is an excellent decision.

This will greatly cut down on a lot of the problems we've had to deal with.

    Bravo!

But, uh "So I suppose there is nothing left to do but lock the door, stock up on drinks and spend the next 5 days reading absolutely everything in there."

There's a lot more than 5 days worth in there. :-)

Oh I dont doubt that, but when I go into study sponge mode I usually last about 5 days before needing a break from information overload

is it ok not to agree!! i have been a member for ages but usally to keep up with friends and buy Ebooks from some amazing marketers, however i think i spend enough on the warrior forum and im pretty sure they do very well out of all the people on here!! is this not just anouther way to squezzzze more cash from us??
i might be wrong and im not moaning i just think only 10 pms is forcing us to sign up, this may as well make the war room an open forum as well beleve it or not spammers will pay $20 and spam there as well now!!
    just my thoughts

    owen.

I hear your point, but if you knew the issues of managing a forum you'd appreciate the need to weed out the bad guys. This is just a few bad apples spoiling it for everyone else, so I think it's necessary and not a money making exercise. It's easy to focus on the first thing that pops into our heads, but try to see it from the mods point of view

    thats my 2 cents anyways,

My thoughts are that $37 isn't even likely to cover the hosting and bandwidth cost of 20 years using this forum, browsing and loading, storing and sending PMs and so on.

That's not even to take into account the cost of covering all the time and effort that must go into moderating the place.

At that rate, it makes membership about 15 and a half cents per month. I don't think there's any other 'membership site' that could compete with what you can get for that!

I'm just curious, does the War Room offer different WSO's than whats available in the Warrior Special Offers sub-forum? I've been itching to join the War Room for a while now but have been super busy. I think it's time to finally bite the bullet. =)

There are tons of threads that could be WSO's themselves. Also, there are tons of war room members just giving away their WSOs for free!

I've only been a war room member for a less than a week, and I've easily recieved over $1000 of Software, Video Tutorials, & Strategies!

It's pretty amazing, so just do it!

I can't say I blame Alan as I have seen some blatent bad behavior from some of the new folks, like a first post of how do I do a WSO? And a few other things. I had decided to join the War Room when I get my next check, but that will not be for a little over a week. I just can't do it now.

But I want to ask, what is the point of being a War Room member now, everyone will have to join so it will not be exclusive?

It is regrettable, but no matter what, there will always be some people that will spoil any community that anyone puts together. It never fails, there is always a few that spoil it. I am sure that this will cut it down, but I doubt that it will stop it altogether.

I'm glad this move is being made. I've created a sizable business from just one implemented idea in the War Room with several more rolling out in 2010. When people gripe about the 10 PM limit I'm thinking "are you friggen kidding me?". I can think of 101 tougher obstacles one will face when starting their own business, a PM limit doesn't even make the top 500....... How hard is it to either save them or delete them to make room for new ones?

Allen isn't doing this to annoy people, he's doing it to make the forum better. It's okay to disagree but at least try not to be myopic about it.

I joined today after waiting so long for what I don't know. Maybe fear that I couldn't contribute there or I was not worthy. I spent two hours earlier, had to set a timer then go get some work done.

The information there is priceless but I don't think it can replace the main forum either because the ideas and conversation flow very different between the two areas in a good way.

Bottom line...I am happy I finally joined, already got more than my moneys worth and can't wait to keep growing in IM with that as a new resource.

If you haven't joined yet...why not?

Overall a good idea to save the WF, including the WR. Probably not so good for the War Room itself. As membership in the War Room increases, people will tend to not share so much, as it will lose its exclusive feeling. Once that happens, I'll be on the lookout for a Warrior Forum offspring of the War Room to appear.

A bit like when all the rappers started earning big money and could afford expensive champagne. One champagne company became outraged that this nouveau money would undermine it's brand 'exclusivity'.

Those of you who are saying this are not thinking about something.

Do you realize if EVERYBODY had access to the War Room that it would make me about 5 million dollars overnight?

Go to the front of this forum and look at the bottom at how many members are here..

Do you honestly think that could even have a remote possibility?

The fact is the vast majority of this forum will have zero access to the War Room because they will never upgrade. It will be no different than it is right now.

I hope you are right Allen. But it doesn't really have to be reality, just perception to make it a reality. (Hope that wasn't too obtuse Obviously it is a concern amongst members. In the long term I'm sure everything will shake out fine, the WF has a great long track record throughout its various metamorphises and an almost cult following for the forum and its leader.

Allen, I hope I didn't offend you with this post, don't forget you told me in the old WA forum we could get together for a pot of coffee in New Orleans, so I hope we can still do that someday (That was shortly before Rita hit)

For a long time I've been meaning to become a War Room member buy seemed to get sidetracked by so many other things.

Then, the other day I read a thread offering free membership and didn't think I'd have a chance of getting one of those, so looked at the membership fee. That decided it - I would pay and let somebody else have the change of a freebie.

Then I got sidetracked and didn't get round to it ....

Today - I have joined - at last! It's true what they say 'Just Do It'.

I'd be lost without this forum. It's the first thing I do every morning while drinking my cup of coffee and I have learnt so much over the years and found some really helpful people here.

    So, I'm here to stay.

    Thank you all.

I'm just guessing here, but I think there will be a spike in signups for the War Room but most will still go about the forum the way that they always have. I think that a greater percentage of the IM crowd (online and offline) is in it half heartedly and dont actually invest much money or action into building their business. So with that said, the new War Room signups will probably be made up of serious marketers that just hadn't gotten around to paying before due to various reasons.

That might mean that there is going to be added value and knowledge to the room, rather than a dilution.

Is it a membership to the "War Room" or additional benefits for the Warrior Forum? With the current free "War Room" memberships being offered today, do they equate to the "paid status membership"? Or is the term upgrade?

A lot of people who have posted that they can't afford the "War Room" will no doubt be in the position that they can't pay for the upgrade.

Just curious. This will certainly be a motivator to get some sales now.

      It's both. Basically, here's what's happening.

People are abusing features of the forum that are available to free registrants. Specifically, they're abusing WSOs, PMs, social groups, and blogs. So these features are coming off the free registrant accounts, and only War Room members can have them.

If you don't care about these features, you can still browse and post for free.

If you must have one or more of those features, joining the War Room was already totally worth it anyway.

With the current free "War Room" memberships being offered today, do they equate to the "paid status membership"?
Yes, but these aren't free memberships. Volunteers have just offered to pay the fee themselves for someone else - it's the same membership, and the same fee, but the person who gets it doesn't pay for it. Another Warrior does. Allen still gets his $37.

Well, I'm back from bass fishing all spring and summer and see there has been some changes. The funny part about this is, when I first joined you had to pay in someway or another to belong to this forum, buy a book, or something.

I seen the opportunity of the War Room when it first came out and joined then, glad I did. Here is what gets me, this is the best forum on the internet as far as I'm concerned and well worth paying for....where else could you get all this information for such a low cost?

Then I hear about how Allen is "squeezing money" out of the forum members......you have no idea what it takes to run this forum and what a pain in the ass it is. Personally, I would have the patience it takes to put up with everyone's bitching for about 30 seconds.

Here's a solution to the problem of paying for all the information your getting......if you don't think it's worth it and if you can't see the opportunity you have here and the ways you can use it to make money then don't pay for it and be on your way. Easy as that!

Personally, I would pay many times what Allen is asking just to have this information. I can't even tell you how much this information has been worth to me over the years and how much it will continue to be worth to me, but I know it's in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What a small price to pay for such great and useful information!

Thanks for lumping me into the "common folk" group. Funny how the IM pro's will have to come back out to the "common" area and rub shoulders with us "common folk" so they can sell their wares.

I'm happy this is happening. Gosh.. we have had so much spam and junk going on lately that something had to break.

I'm a bit stunned that people state they can't afford the price. I suppose students would have a hard time coming up with money for lunch let alone a membership here. That said, Brunson made something like $250,000 while in college doing internet marketing. I think its worth cutting a few lawns for or selling something.

If you are not in college and want to do internet marketing, why don't you have a few bucks to invest? I know I know, you are busy buying other things and you didn't expect to spend anything extra right now. You have to make choices in life. Get rid of that Starbucks for a few mornings, or sell something you don't need on eBay. If you don't join the forum, then you were not serious anyway. If you can't see the value here, you are not serious.

Don't worry about Allen getting money. Shouldn't you be happy for someone that knows who to market and makes lots of money? Shouldn't it inspire you? Why do you have to worry about what he is getting? The value you are getting back is much much more.

    Last word, just join.

Allen is an IM genius! I have just learnt this fantastic strategy: Hook people into a service (offering it free), then make them pay to continue to use it.

I understand this may not have been Allen's initial intention, but hey, it worked!

We all are here to try our hand at IM and Allen just showed us a successful strategy.

P.S. I had already joined the War Room a few days prior to this change, and it was the best $37 I've ever invested!

LOL. I did, too AGES ago under a different username, but it was much less brain damage to just pay another $37 than to try to find my old login information.

          LOL.

      Here are my thoughts.

      1. I love the fact that this place is going paid. Think about all the freebie seekers that are going bye bye. Just like with a list, I want a list of buyers, not tire kickers. So now you know that people care enough to invest $37 bucks in their future. They are buyers.

      2. The war room has great info. There is something in there that is worth the price of $37 and it's free. I promise you make your money back the first day.

      3. It shows respect to Allen. I have made a few dollars here and paying to be here is my way of saying thanks.

So Allen thanks for the warrior forum and making this decision.

I am not a War Room Member.

However, I am able to access everything on the forum except for the "private forums" that include the War Room.

Can I still buy products sold as Warrior Special Offers? Yes.

Can I still buy websites in Complete Websites For Sale? Yes.

Can I still buy whatever is being offered on Warrior Classifieds? Yes.

Assume for a moment that I am a tire kicker.

How has anything changed for me?

I can still see what is being offered for sale, and buy something (or not).

In what way am I and others who do not upgrade going "bye bye"??

        I'm confused by your response.

Do you really know if what you are saying is true?

        Thanks for clarifying.

I've read the banner "Warrior Forum Is Going Back To Paid Status Effectively Immediately", numerous times, only just realised it should read: "Warrior Forum Is Going Back To Paid Status Effective Immediately".

I don't know if anyone else has picked this up, or our grammer is different in Australia??

Oh, I'm not nit picking either :-)
