Submitting the Same Article to Multiple Sites

When submitting the exact same article to multiple website directories, does this hurt all of your articles in rankings with Google?

If it does hurt(with Google) does it matter with the extra sales made from having your articles posted at many websites?

I've read several ebooks that say submit a unique article to each directory, others insist it doesn't matter at all. I figured I'd ask the experts from the Warrior Forum to give me their opinion.

I'm about to start a very large article writing campaign. I'm trying to maximize my campaign.

Hi Carol, It doesn't really matter to me but others will argue. To each their own. I suggest you do a test run for yourself. Then check google.

Carol, as far as I know Google especially does not like identical articles or sites. If you use the same wording you might be considered spamming. Why do it anyway? You can write on the same subject and use different wording.

I was actually planning on submitting to at least 15 directories. I am considering an original article to Google and the same to the other 14.

There are some great article re-writer software packages out too.

None are coming to mind right off the top of my head, but what are some people's favorites (free or paid) for machine generated article re-writes?

Carol, on rereading you question I think I think I miss understood it. If you are asking about web site directories, as in links, it may not matter. I was thinking of article publishers.
