Hey mates, This is happening over several of my sites, primarily i am concerned with 2020unleashed.com right now. A few weeks ago I was getting an occasional 404 error when trying to get into the wp-admin Today, that is all I get. I've been reading up on fixes people are trying, getting lots of contradictory ideas, so I am coming home to the warriors I know and trust! Please help! Twenty Twenty |

I can see the log-in box. Does the error occur after you've entered your username and password?

Hey Jay, Not updated on that specific site yet. I do see the log in box, but after putting in the user and password it goes to the 404 page. Argh! Still seeking ideas... 20/20 |

I'm having the same problem, attempting to login to any of my blogs is bringing up a 404 error page. I've tried updating a couple of them in Fantastico but they're coming up with errors during the upgrade: Warning: file_get_contents(http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?step=1) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1251841013.27384ssF5qxsJrH on line 2087 Lynn |

Here's a couple ideas. Has happened to me, too. If you're coming to your blog through a redirect sometimes it won't let you login. Another thing that's happened to me is that for some reason (Gremlins at your webhost, I suspect) the .htaccess file in your root directory drops the line telling it to read index.php, and only looks for index.html. If you know how to correct that you can check it. Otherwise drop a line to your webhost and they'll fix it. Have a great week! |

A couple of things you could try. 1) Are you able to update WP via fantastico? 2) Use your ftp software to rename all your plug-ins, in case one of them is causing the problem. Do either of those help? |
