Just coconut oil and nothing else seems a bit narrow to me, but this is just my opinion. Could you expand it to include other types of lotions, etc.? Maybe focus on just natural oils and lotions? Just an idea, but if you feel you can make money with your blog focus as is, don't let anyone stop you. Keep adding content and promoting.

    Yourself,
Before you created the blog, did you do a keyword research to find out how often searches are made for 'coconut oil'?.

Doing keyword research gives you an idea of how many times a month searches are done in any niche, and how much competition is in that niche. That sort of research gives you an idea of how profitable any niche may be.

But that's not all, you also need to identify how much it would cost to get a list of subscribers that will give you a profitable sustainable online business in that niche, and work out a business plan based on your current financial situation.

Here's some content ideas for coconut oil

    -How to apply it correctly
    -What it's used for
-What other products your audience may be interested in?
    -How its made
    -Where it comes from
-Coconuts used in diets (you could post recipies, nutritional information)
-Other coconut products (creams, mousses etc)
-product reviews Eg. If Lush had a coconut related product, I would write a long review on it
-YT videos - are there any YT videos around coconut oil? How can you include this in your content? (Reaching out to these accounts for link swapping etc is good!)
    - coconut water seems popular right now, you could write about that
    - write blog posts that answer googled questions such as ' Is Coconut Oil Good For You?‎'
    - quirky posts such as 10 ways to use coconut oil
    - Ingredients comparisions, charts etc.
    - Comparison reviews with a conclusion such as 'which brand is better'
    - Fb ads campaign that drives traffic to your website while targeting for coconut oil as an audience interest

Ranking depends on many factors, organically, the main things you will want to look at:

        - Link building
        - Keyword research and targeting
        - High quality content
        - Easy usability for visitors
        - Engagement and social media

If your research into your audience and content and link building is done well - yes, it is enough to rank. Long tail keywords, guest bloggers and link swapping will be your friend.

Be careful with link exchanges. Exchanging links for "link juice" is considered web spam by Google and is a one of the flags that can help get your site penalized. Using link exchange (with no follow) to share traffic on the other hand is a great idea.

It's a blog around one product type only, but if it's a profitable niche or product and your website has the right content, you can still make good money.

Coconut oil is a trend product, there are tons of information and coconut oil products too (you could review all these - affiliate programs). There's also different uses for coconut oil (beauty, health, nutrition, etc), so there's a great potential to create content.

It's probably a competitive niche, just have a quick look on Google! But if you become an expert on the subject, provide quality valuable content to your readers, and follow the SEO advice above, I can definitely see a good potential to rank for related keywords and make money.

      Hi karla,
Actually, i'm not expert in the subject but i'm planing to outsource almost 90% of the content.

That keyword shows over half a million searches in Google so technically it is big enough for a nich blog. it's longer tail keywords (the one syiu will more likley rank for) show a moderate ECPC so potentally it could make money. First step is to get traffic to your site. Yiu don't mention what that may be currently.

Does Google like niche blogs? Probaly not if you are using them simply to get AdSense clicks or Affiliate sales. However many factors determine if a site is "good" or not. see https://support.google.com/webmaster...er/35769?hl=en as first step.

You can actually make a fortune by using just cocunut oil. I'll tell you how, first rank for all the long tail keywords related to cocunut oil, like "Is cocunut oil good for cooking?" Is cocunut oil good for hair etc. Once you rank for it, approach companies which sell cocunut oil, tell them you'll help them with leads. For every lead, ask a specific amount or sell the whole site to them. Done Your first income is now in your hands
