What do you mean? Do you have a website that you'd like to start content marketing for or do you want to start a service around content marketing?

If you can research, write and promote content then you can be successful with content marketing.

It will be extremely difficult if your English isn't at least average, however.

I have no idea how newbies "usually" feel when they start IM.

Slow down, fella. You want to start a paid service for something you have no clue how to do? Not a good idea.

Your best bet is to start a website on a niche topic and teach yourself content marketing. In addition to being a school of sorts, it will also be a demonstration of your abilities, something you can point to when people ask if you know what you are doing.

As far as not being a native English speaker/writer, Steve gave you good advice. Additionally, you could pick a niche specialty where your country of origin is an advantage rather than a problem. Quick example...suppose you lived in one of the Asian countries and specialized in content marketing for travel and tourism companies, or companies that serve expats. Being a native and having unique local knowledge could be more valuable than flawless English as long as your writing is understandable.

Feeling discouraged and overwhelmed as a beginner is normal and natural. Especially if you are comparing yourself to the puffed up versions of themselves many IMers present to the public in their marketing materials. If you have any kind of ability, and the discipline to stick it out, you can learn enough to be competent and earn your keep. It just takes time and effort.

So write about things your know . . . things from your education, your work, your hobbies, your passions, your training, things others would say you do very well.

Another approach is to write about things that you research and study. You don't have to pretend that you are an expert. "Discovery" is also an accepted method of operating until you have some expertise.

Yes, but if you struggle with the language you should get help from another good writer or use the service of a proofreader. A third option is to write in your native tongue only and market to people that speak your language.

Yes, many newbies experience the same thing. You'll get over it as you gain more experience. If you stick to niches that you know and understand, you will feel more comfortable.

    Good luck to you,
