Do you offer marketing rates for fast turnaround?

Hi Everyone

In this 24/7 world, everyone is wanting something yesterday.

I'm curious, does anyone ever quote or add on additional costs for jobs that needs to be done stat.

I have a bunch of clients at the moment that have dumped me with heaps of work that they probably should have done in June, however now it is the new financial year they needs it done super quick which means I will need to do a bit of overtime and weekend work to meet their needs.

It's different nowadays particularly when working for myself, but do you ever add on penalty rates for quick turnaround ?

Thanks

If it's urgent for my respectful client, then I also respectfully expect that he or she doesn't treat the price itself as a priority. The best thing I can do is to be brutally honest. If I have time to accept the project and I'm willing to sacrifice to deliver it on time, I expect to be compensated adequately. This is supposed to be a win-win. Right?

      I work across all industries.

Interested to see what the 'norm' is, the line seems to be getting a little blurred as everyone is getting used to 24/7 services and short times frames.

    Yes.

My clients know that my time is valuable, as is theirs. I always remind them that if they want something done ASAP, it will be an extra [insert amount here]. Usually they don't have a problem with it. If they do, they go somewhere else. That doesn't bother me either, because I don't like putting in overtime or working on weekends. So if they can find someone to do it cheaper, more power to them.

I like your approach. Thanks for that.

It's funny how a client's urgent project quickly becomes my urgent project, and I think I need to be more clear about the extra amount they need to pay to get my urgent and undivided attention at times that wholly and solely suit their needs.

Usually, the urgent jobs are more trouble than they are worth and they really don't interest me as sometimes the work I do take time, so hopefully I can avoid these instances however it is interesting to hear how everyone else manages quick turnaround jobs.

If you're not interested then make the fee worth your time.

My fee for urgent work is ridiculous. I charge twice as much as I would normally charge, plus the regular fee. So if a client wants a blog post in 24 hours, that's $100 for the blog post plus $200 for the urgent fee.

If you are willing to pay me $300 for a blog post done in 24 hours I will work my butt off for you. That shows me you respect my time, you understand that I run a business, you know you're inconveniencing me and you're willing to pay me to compensate.

If you think that's ridiculous and refuse to pay it, I still win, because I don't have to do your work. And chances are if you're that cheap, I probably won't work with you anyway.

This is gold, I couldn't agree more with you there. I'm going to stop second guessing myself and try this next time. Thanks for sharing.

When I was making videos or Apps I would charge $100PH urgent work was always $300PH , just by giving your client a cheaper cost does not work in the long run unless family

One of the old wise Warrior PM me and said never cheapen yourself or products that way the client see's value and always get half up front and set up a delivery date
