Hi, I recently did a test with one of my opt-in forms. The product is a free report, but I created a sales letter for it anyway. The opt-in form appeared in 3 places on the page: 1. At the top before the sales letter. I briefly explained the offer using bullet points. 2. In the middle of the sales letter. 3. At the very bottom of the sales letter. Results: The opt-in form at the very top of the page generated the most subscribers, with a conversion rate of 32.2%. The form in the middle of the page came in second. And the form at the very bottom generated no subscribers at all. I guess it's not a big deal and the numbers could be better, but I shared these findings because someone might find the info useful. |

32% is great! I currently have a 30% opt in rate but its a opt in page only. What I find more great is that you have a 30% optin rate on a sales page, that means that those bulletpoints of yours are very good. Can you show me the website? |

Thanks for sharing your results Michelle. Was the top opt in box the standard thin kind, with the name and address fields sitting on top of each other? I ask because I've been creating some wide opt in boxes, where the name and address fields sit side by side. I'd be very interested to hear what kind of results you might get with the same page using a wide opt in. |

Thanks very much for posting this, Michelle. May I ask over what number of opt-ins the 32% figure was measured? |

I changed the layout and got rid of one of the opt-in forms. So now there are only two. One at the very top and one at the bottom.

Yes, it was a standard opt-in box with the fields on top of each other. I've never seen the side by side design. Quote:

If you'd be willing to test it out and share the results, I'd be happy to help you with some code to try the side by side option if you'd like. Here's an example to show you what I'm on about: |
