Hi all,

Can anyone tell me which is the best to use and why?

The free option is working great for me but I also have a few WP sites.

So should I stick to a mix of the two or change all to WP?

Thanks

Karen

    Hey Karen,

I will tell you what works for me.
I have used WP ( hosted on my server) and I have used free blogger blogs and also free WP blogs.

Whereas the WP blogs that's hosted on my server works a little better than the free blogger blogs and Free wp blogs. However, for me, free blogger blogs and free WP blogs have yielded pretty much the same result and I am really satisfied with using them. This month, I will create a lot more of these free blogs.

Results may be different for the others, but they have worked well for me.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Copywarrior,

Thanks for that - I have pretty much the same type of stuff going on except I haven't used the free WP sires for ages.

I am getting good results form the free blogger blogs though and was wondering if there would be anything to be gained from changing over to hosted WP.

    Thanks.

I prefer wordpress simply because I had unique content on both sites with similar specs and the wordpress site way outranked the blogger one.

Personally I prefer WP because it's fast and flexible. Maybe I am biased but WP is the way to go.

Karen - I've also used a mix of free Blogger blogs and hosted WP blogs (which I prefer). In my experience the WP blogs get indexed and ranked quicker.

Personally WP and your own site is always going to win because you're always adding value to something you own. Which is better for SEO? Meh, hard to say.

SEOwise, both seem to be pretty much the same.

However, what I miss in Blogger is better customization and I am sort of fed up with the themes. But that could be just me.

    Hi,
WP with your own hosting if you are trying to monetize it. You need to own and control your blog.
    Thanks,

I'm with jimcal on this. Get your own hosting and use WP. If you are going to put a significant amout of work into your blog you need to have contol over it. To see why seach this forum for Squidoo and read about what happens when the people who control the hosted products decide that they do not like your work.
