Any thoughts on how helpful Ning might be as a social site for a business looking to "get themselves out there"?

If you can find some targeted groups, they can be beneficial. I have several that I'm active on starting around this time of year, to advertise my Etsy shop.

I think the key is to find relevant communities that already have a couple thousand members and then join those. I don't bother with small communities.

Well in this case the business would be STARTING a community. So is NING still helpful like it would be to have a Facebook or Myspace or is it to better to focus the efforts on their own blog site. Or is it a nice addition?

    Thanks!
