Hey there, Can someone please give me a real quick crash course on drop shipping, please? I have set up an account with a affiliate that drop ships, however I really need a crash course before I put any of these products on my site. I know this must be a bigger question that I think, but anyone taking the time to help with this will be really appreciated!! Thank you very much! Edward |

I sell via drop-shipping. I contacted a wholesale distributor in my niche and asked if they drop- ship and they did. I had to email them a scan of my drivers license and business license before I was approved. I told them I did not need credit ( I have crappy credit score) so they keep my paypal debit card on file for orders. Customer buys from my online store, I use an html template I made as an order form and I use MyFax to fax the order to their warehouse (orderform includes customers ship-to info) and they promptley ship (same day shipping if I fax it in by 2pm) directly to my customer. I also fax my own packing slip with the order and they include it in the shipment. They charge me nothing for this drop shipping service, most on the level wholesale ditributors don't charge any fees. My ditributor then mails me the receipt. That's about it. Oh, I follow their return rules so I never have any issues with returns or warranty, I just call and request an R/A#. That's about all I know on drop-shipping based on my experience. I do however have no clue what they have in stock at any given time but it never takes them more than a week usually to get new shipments in. This has only happened to me twice and each time the customer was fine with the wait after explaining to them that I "oops, judt sold the last one I had in stock, new shipment arrives in 5 days and then your order will go out to you, is this okay?" Drop-shipping works fine if you find a real wholesale ditributor (mine been in business for almostr 40 years). |

Edward, Wintermute gave you some good tips about drop shipping, he seems to know his stuff. I have been drop shipping with about 100 different drop shippers for over 5 years now and the biggest challenge that I always run into is inventory with alot of them. Most of them do send inventory sheets to me every week, but working with so many companies and over 30,000 products keeps me and 1 of my employees very busy, so keep it small. That will save you alot of headaches and customers complaints... I personally have never used worldwidebrands or doba, I like going straight to the source, the best way to find drop shippers is to go to trade shows that have large importers-manufactures. I hope this helps and if you need anything else, send me a DM... |
