How Do You Get Banned From WF?

This may seem like a silly question, but to avoid it from happening, can someone tell how someone would get banned.

We are all here to make money and increase our education on Internet Marketing.

What does someone have to do to get banned? Just curious, so I do not do it?

Fastest way is to promote your product/site on the Main Internet Marketing Discussion Forum .

I learned that the hard way. Got banned for a week a while back. I actually wasn't trying to advertise (honest). I just needed feedback and/or opinions on some content. But I guess, it could have easily been misread as sneaky advertising.

Ask yourself, if your post can be read as advertising. If it can (even the slightest bit) don't post it.

A week without WF is almost like a week without food or water.

    Hi,

I've seen overly negative people banned. One long time member had nothing but a negative comment to make on any post he posted in. I've seen successful folks get a big head and start being condescending to others and "disappear."

There seems to be three kinds of banning here. One is very temporary, one is long term and one is permanent.

Nothing I say here is written in concrete or meant to be gospel. It's just my personal observations.

It appears to me, that many times when someone gets "banned", they are not banned at all. It is simply a suspension.

For the most part, common sense will keep you from getting banned permanently, if you commit a smaller infraction, it will probably amount to a week or suspension type "banning", for lack of a better term.

I guess something to do with the law of attraction if you believe in that stuff - but negative people attract negativity and positive comments attract a greater momentum.

I was banned twice. Once for posting duplicate threads. My first thread was deleted. So I thought...must have been a mistake so I reworded it and posted it like 2 more times.

Then banned for having multiple accounts.

There are essentially three ways to get banned.

      1. Spamming the forum with ads.
      2. Having a signature violating the forum rules (no affiliate links)
      3. Insulting other members.
      4. Scamming other members (if it can be proven)

Some bans are temporary (I was banned for being a jackass) and some
bans are permanent (such as if you run a scam WSO)

Ultimately (and I know this isn't fool proof) read the rules and then, for
everything else, go with your gut. In other words, if you think something
you're going to do is going to be viewed as not kosher, you might want to
      consider not doing it.

Trust me, I am speaking from experience.

Steven's list is a good start. It covers the most common reasons.

It's very unusual to get banned for sig file violations, unless you repeat them, in sneaky ways. It can happen, though.

You can also get banned for making certain types of hate posts, using multiple usernames as sock puppets, re-posting a thread you know was deleted, being a persistent jerk (uncommon, but it happens), excessive vulgarity, abusing the PM feature, threatening members, piracy or promoting pirate sites, promoting spam or illegal activities, pushing the "no religion or politics" rule too hard, and anything else Allen or the mods deem to be harmful to the forum.

That's not a complete list. "List lawyers" would be well advised not to try and work around those rules, as list-lawyering has been, all by itself, a reason for a few past nukings.

OOPS, I don't have an affiliate link in my signature yet. I better get busy and put one in.

        Thanks for explaining that.

Also there's no problem giving out lots of insults but just be sure that
the total number is one less than the maximum allowed.

          The maximum is 50.

Wow Stephen - just think how many posts you would have if you had not been banned. You might have actually rolled the clock over in the post count field (lol).

Anyway - I'm glad you were persistent enough to come back after you learned your lesson.

You should see how I count backwards from 100 when they put me under
              for surgery.

              100, 99, 98, 97, 96...3

I haven't been banned (or given a warning) until today so I don't really know how you get banned but I think that there are some general rules to follow and they are the same on the whole internet and they are Don't Spam, Don't insult others, etc.

One more rule is that if it looks to spammy then it probably is.

I would definitely avoid repeatedly making posts that are
shorter than your signature. For example, posting
"Thanks for the share", or similar variations, multiple times
instead of using the thanks button.

There's not supposed to be a way around it - that's the point. Yes, there are temporary bans but there are permanent ones, too - and they are usually well earned.

I am a relatively newbie here and find something new here whenever I visit the forum. Naturally I wouldn't like to get banned for some stupid thing that I may do out of ignorance. Such threads as this are lots of help. Thanks.

Don't make more than one profile... some people do that to secretly boost their product and other things, through posts by creating a buzz-- but they do catch you and ban you.
