I have been doing a ton of writing recently to create some ebooks,
using Adobe inDesign is sometimes clunky and slow to create decent ebooks.. So I decided to find a different way to produce the ebooks and then I found Buzzword, it is an online text processor that outputs to PDF, .DOC, etc (It's owned by Acrobat so you can be assured it's the highest quality free web app available.) Not only is it really easy, but it's got the best user interface design and the typography is always good no matter what setting. Check it out: https://buzzword.acrobat.com/ Just thought I'd let everyone know incase anyone hasn't seen it yet.

Good question, Val! At first look I didn't think it was possible, but I found out how.
Just highlight any piece of text and go to Insert in the top menu and click on Link Pretty helpful web application, you can also import .doc files from your computer to edit inside the editor, incase Microsoft Word is not available. |

Is their free PDF service still limited to 5 PDF files? It was because of that I ended up using OpenOffice Writer...

Colin, I also like OpenOffice and have been using that
as I don't have Microsoft Word. I am not sure about the 5 pdf limitation, what I have been doing is exporting the document to PDF and DOC files and then overwrite the text on the pages and rewrite it. I have been able to export more than 30 to PDF more than 30+ times already. I also dig the typography and focus on design with the app. Attached is a ebook template PDF and DOC file that anyone can use and import to the Buzzword text processor and edit. If you use OpenOffice to view the attached .doc file the fonts will be different than the sample .pdf file. But if you import it into Buzzword it uses some fonts that most computers don't have installed. |

Here is a quick ebook template that I thought has good typography
(considering some ebooks don't bother at all! :| ) |
