Newbie - so where do I start?

Ok, I recently joined the forum and I have to say the enthusiasm generated here has my curiosity peaked. Let me give you some brief details of where I am at. In addition to a day job, I have been a ebay powerseller for about 4 years now. Mainly to pay some expenses while my wife goes thru Nursing school.

I am seriously burned out on ebay. I changed my biz model this past year to be a service based retailer rather than a price based retailer. To sum it up, the result was I have made more money this year than any other with less sales. But ebay changes to much and to fast and I want out.

I have been researching affiliate marketing and I see a lot more potential in promoting someone elses product than dealing with customers and all the other things that come with ecommerce.

So help me, where is the best place to start. It is all so overwelming. I looked into Wealthy Affiliates and just dont know if it is worth the price. Where did you start?

Casey Gentles is well respected on here and has an awesome FREE guide for newbies, I'd highly recommend checking it out. I don't have his link, but not too hard to find him on google (or here).

    Good luck!

I have tried Wealthy Affiliate and it was great.

Really though the best thing to do would be to act. Join or not you should create a landing page (simple if possible) and direct some articles to it. This may seem simple and not really profitable but it certainly can be and you will learn more about tweaking copy, landing pages, and SEO then you ever will just by reading about it. Great thing is that this is a free method by just hosting the page with Google page creator or a blogspot plog page

Sorry to hear you're burned out on ebay.

You might find it beneficial to begin by reading as many posts
here as you can. Take particular note of the "Intent" of the
poster - Ask yourself - "are they on here to help themselves or
to help me?" Many Warriors have the very best of Intent behind
what they write - they're the ones to follow. There's information
here that has been most helpful to me over many years.

Make a note of the Warriors whose Posts you like and trust.
Read all of their posts for the past 12 months. Visit links they
      suggest.

Follow some of the strategies they use. Test and see what
works for you. Take some time before deciding on what to launch into.

      Success Belongs To You

okay welcome i used to be a fellow ebay seller until they changed the terms in the fees then i packed it all in and came to CPA and internet marketing, if your a newbie i suggest upi try the 30 day challenge just google it and it is a free course that breaks down the basics to internet marketing, rather then paying for a course from clickbank on a monthly basis

anyway welcome to the forum and hope to chat soon

Determine your niche... You can use the free videos at Download Your Free Video Course Here! to help you get familiar with some information you will need. Don't buy the special offer.. You don't need it right now. Also, there is an opt-in and if you don't want to be in it then opt-out after you get the link to the videos. The link is a freebie I gave to my twitter followers a few months ago. Very good information on how to perform some functions...

    Best Advice for a Newbie:
1.) Be very careful of jumping on too many opportunities.
2.) Find a good niche and work it.. After you are rolling in that niche, you can take on another or go wide with that same niche.
3.) Don't get too caught up in hype... It you are looking at a marketing course, choose wisely... There are more crappy courses and ebooks than there are good ones.
4.) Find people in your area that have a mastermind group. Meet with them and become an active member of the group. You can learn a great deal.
5.) Pay for a membership here at the warrior forum. Read the important notice at the top of the page....

Good Luck and if you need some help you can PM me...

I started promoting clickbank products using article marketing. That was not too hard for me, a newbie then, and got me started. maybe you can look in that direction.
