Trying to track down an interview I heard....

Hi Guys

A few months back I heard an interview with a guy who outsources to the Philipines.

He was extremely successful and it was a very interesting interview - I think he said he made millions from the process.

I can't remember whether it was a free opt-in interview or one I paid for.

I promised to pass on the site details to a mate of mine who's very interested in outsourcing his business, but I can't remember much about it and can;t find it in my records.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

I'd really appreciate being able to get hold of a copy. Obviously I'd be delighted to re-opt in or pay for it again.

Cheers

Tony

Thanks Lynn that's an interesting interview but it;s not the one.

The guy in the one I want tells how he employs full-time filipino outsourcers of very high standard.

He found them when his wife had to quit work in pregnancy and he had to look after their kids so he let the outsourcers run his business totally.

...which is when he started manking a shedload of money.

It's a really interesting perspective and I wish I could find it again

      Cheers

I just went over and checked out. Really got me thinking about outsourcing, which I had heard about before but didn't really pay attention to it.

The immediate question on my mind is - how is the quality of the outsourced work ensured?

The quality of outsourcing varies. You can find some great people out there and some right duds. Just be very clear in your descriptions and use escrow services provided by outsource services

I agree about the quality varying but some have managed to find very good sources, another interview you may wish to see is on Kathy Dobson's blog - she recently interviewed Tyrone Shum. You can see it here: Kathy Dobson's Blog My Interview With Outsourcing Expert Tyrone Shum

    Enjoy the journey.

It is Jon Jonas you for sure.

Outsourcing in a process and does require time and effort, I learned the hard way on it. I see a lot of people get turned off on bad experience, well just like succeeding online, you cannot be turned off by a idea not working, outsource in the same way.

    Cheers,

Check my signature out for outsourcing.

I've had one problem with outsourced work in 10 years. I don't see why people have so many problems, I've got a solid process now and whether it's a $50 or $10000 project, I always get what I want now and I almost never provide a specification document - even for complicated software products - there are better ways to get things done properly.

John Jonas is the interview you are looking for and you have already found it. Hope you find some great tips from it as I did. There is also a wealth of information on his Blog.

Also you might wanna look into
Tyron Shum's stuff who has already posted in this thread
    and Jeff Mills.

@Andy : do you wanna put out a report or may be share in a thread about how you systematized the process? might be helpful for people looking for additional knowledge and getting the most out of their outsourced staff.

Not that everyone on odesk is going to be great, I should have been more clear on that last post. It's just a great way to manage an outsourced team in my opinion and they do have some great workers on there. They also have some duds, so you still have to have a good system for hiring people.

I recommend odesk for outsourcing. I had a lot of issues with outsourcing when I first started and odesk has been really helpful for me. Outsourcing will either be great or it will be a nightmare if you aren't working with the right kinds of people.

Louis Jonathan from ProfitsMasterPlan.com also interviewed Tyrone: How To Leverage And Outsource An Internet Business

He talks about how to leverage and outsource an Internet Business. I found the tips he provided very useful and easy to understand.
