I've got three different projects I'm working on, and I'm not sure how to link them together. For context, I'm a truck driver but I also have web development experience and I like to write. My projects are:
  • An eBook (instructional material for new truck drivers)
  • A physical product (also for new truck drivers)
  • An Amazon affiliate site (truck driver gift ideas)

My eBook should be ready in a couple weeks. The physical product should be done by October. The affiliate site is up now. Should I give away the eBook to build a list? My concern is that I don't have any product ideas beyond the physical product that I could market to the list.

Or, because I think the book will sell well on its own merits, maybe I should sell the book but direct readers to an author site where I'd trade some value for their email. Then I could market the physical product to them later.

I'm not sure how to tie my affiliate site into it, either. I guess I could just feature my eBook on that site, since it would make a nice truck driver gift.

Anyway I'm kind of thinking out loud here. I've never done any internet marketing before and would appreciate any advice . I'm getting tired of driving a truck and would love to build another source of income.

They are already linked, all targeting Truck Drivers.

Set up a site today. Get an autoresponder ready, in 2 weeks when the ebook is ready, you can either begin selling it, or give it away to capture names.

Your book may or may not sell itself, as you think. But the real POTENTIAL you have is this:

How I built a new source of income and gave up truck driving for good.

That is your ticket to freedom. The outline you presented, has little chance of getting you to THAT much extra income but it is a start, which is a good thing.

Spend some time learning the basics of IM, building a site, capturing names and emails. Researching and finding niches in markets.

START now, and aim toward the end of truck driving days via helping other truck drivers, down the road, to escape their own rat races.

That just blew my mind, I'm looking at the whole thing differently now. Thank you!
