Do you promote a product because your friend is promoting it?

Hey guys,

do you promote a product just because your friend
or someone you respect is promoting it...

And you've never used or tested the product?

This might be considered "social proof"- following someone blindly just because "someone else is doing it".

Doesn't make sense to do, but I'm sure many do it as there are many more followers than leaders in this world.

If I see a friend or colleague promoting a product successfully and it was something that interested me I'd definitely look into it.

I don't promote without using or testing a product though - I used to when I first got into marketing (I couldn't afford to buy them) but I've found that I make alot more money from having provided an honest review or case study. Luckily most of the products I promote are in niches that I can make use of e.g. internet marketing, health and weight loss etc.

I would say that most newbies starting out in IM follow blindly until that is, the penny drops that they are making more money for their sponsor than they are for themselves.
