My site gets a lot of targeted visitors, but very few sales

I have a service that submits your ad to different classified ads sites. I have received dozens of orders when I advertised on the forums.

Right now I am running an ad on all cities at backpage.com. Backpage.com is a popular classified ads site targeted by city similiar to Craigslist.

I am receiving dozens of visits per day from my ad that was placed on backpage.com. From the way that I wrote the ad I am sure a majority of the visitors are people that have placed ads on backpage.com.

But there are no sales from this ad campaign. My landing page is at Submit your site to 600 Classified Ads Websites

Does anyone think that there is a problem with my landing page, or is it that no one from backpage.com is interested in the service?

Based on the fact that they responded to your ad about ad submission, people who come to your landing page presumably know the value of classified ads.

You should spend more time "selling" how the submission service will benefit them rather than explaining why classified ads are so great.

Also, if I were you, I'd get an opt-in form up immediately. You can give away a free report titled "101 places to run free classified ads" or something like that. Then offer your service after they opt-in.

Giving them the list of sites is kind of like teaching them to fish. And your submission service is kind of like giving them the fish. A lot of people would rather just pay for the fish.

And since you're asking, your landing page isn't going to convert well, as you're seeing. You want it to look more like a sales page than a business site.

Most of the real estate at the top is wasted. You don't need that huge, generic graphic. It does nothing for you, and pushes everything else down the page. As per Lance, the remainder of the page above the fold is telling them something they already know.

When you land on the page, you have to work to figure out what you are offering and how. Your visitors should see a bold headline right away that tells them what you're offering and why they are in the right place:

We'll Place Your Ad On 600 Classified Ad Web Sites
For A Ridiculously Low $14.95!

Then a brief, bold checklist of features/benefits, etc.

And get their email address!
