IM success is very complicated. There are times when we can say that our business is doing good but there are times that luck is not at our side. What do you think is the main key to IM success? Share some of your success stories and inspire others to strive harder. |

For a total newbie it is (IMHO)... research and selection of a online business model to conduct - then getting the step by step and resources to conduct the model. This will eliminate most confusion and info-overload. Until someone does this - they don't have a chance. Here's a link that will help those that need initial direction... Newbies Are Darn Lucky These Days!! Hope This Helps!! TL PS. My success started when I abandoned the selling how to make money online niche and moved on to other lucrative niches. |

Yes...and I think that getting focused is one of the most vital thing in my opinion. Like TL said "research and selection of a online business model to conduct - then getting the step by step and resources to conduct the model." but also commit to that model and be consistent..work on your marketing and business every day or according to the plan... |

Failing to take sustained action is one big reason a lot of people fail in IM. No doubt about it. Lots of big plans and excitement when starting up, then failing to follow all the way through. Another is too much trying to re-invent the wheel. Become Japanese. By that, I mean don't try to come up with the new "big idea." You'll spin your wheels and give up. Learn what works for a lot of others, over time, and imitate them. That's how the Japanese went from having essentially no economy after WWII to one of the world's biggest within 35-40 years. They perfected the art of imitation. And finally, I do not agree with the OP's first sentence: Quote:

Making money with IM is the same as anything else. "I'm a great believer in luck and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." - Thomas Jefferson 1. Learn basic IM principles. 2. See what others who are successful are doing and copy them. 3. Work, work, work, work! Most important ... most people spend way too much time on steps 1 and 2. You don't make any money until you get to step 3. |

Like all offline business - it's all the same. Tenacity. Determination. Openness to learning. Willingness to learn. Courage to make mistakes. And last but not least, after failing many times (yes, it is a neccessity to fail. and learn), the smartness to sit down, learn from your failures, pick yourself up, and work hard with your new strategy towards your business. |

I agree with John and Roger - Take Action and Persistence. I think the lack of these 2 are the biggest causes of failure. 1. Take action - too many people spend so much time looking for something better that they don't take action on what they have already learned. 2. Persistence - once you take that action you need to persist with it - too many people try for a week or so then give up and move onto something else, you need to stick with something long enough and be determined to make it work. Having said that - there are some things that will just never work and it's hard to know when to draw that line and give up on something that has no hope, but most people just give up too quickly on something that does have good potential. |
