Are you using Amazon Video Direct?

Amazon Video Direct was launched recently.

The catch with Amazon Video Direct is the mandatory closed captions, which, for very lengthy content, can incur significant costs for transcription.

I'm curious to know, specifically from those who have taken the plunge to use the platform for the purposes of teaching; has it proven to be a worthwhile move in the time it's been active?

  • I read about this just a few weeks back. Maybe a month ago and it seems like an interesting opportunity.

For closed captioning you can get things done for about a buck a minute if you don't need to fully sync up the audio with the sound.

Until I have a game plan with plenty of time I don't think I'll be trying this out however. I make a slight amount of money from my youtube videos on a few channels that are how to videos but for Amazon I think I would really need a whole different angle.

It's quite important for audio and video to match in most cases and I'm sure Amazon would have this down as a requirement too.

It's likely videos will be reviewed before they go live.
