Best way to test an ad

Hi,

What is the best way to test a banner ad (and verify that it converts at a good rate)?

    stick it on adwords or a relevant site which charge CPM (look at buysellads.com) and see how it performs

    Run some traffic! You also have to be aware of the traffic of the website you want to run your banner on. There is going to be an optimization process that needs to take place. First make sure the website you want to place your banner on has good traffic. What I mean by that is again does it line up with your demographics...

    You can use something like PPC with Google or Bing to test your content or headlines for your banner taking alot of guess work out but again its the source of traffic.

    Whether its a banner ad, a text ad, or an email swipe, etc...I always like to split test. Google Adwords and Bing pay per click work well in this regard too.

    Test 3 headlines, 3 Body Copies, and 3 Images.

    Facebook is my first port of call.. split test a couple of different versions.. not small changes, but completely different.

    with PPV i like to use ad rotators (3 or 4 squeeze pages) but on the "respectable" ad platforms you cant use a rotator without getting a terrible quality score or getting banned (Google)

    run some bing traffic with two ads, get your quality score up by focusing on one or two keywords per ad group. Make sure your keyword, ad and lander make sense together.

    Before you begin testing, u want to start off on the right foot
