Just about any business can be ran on autopilot. If you start and create one business and it becomes successful, you automate it. Sure, this will cut into profits, but you'll free up more time (time is money) to start another business to make even more money. Its a repeatable process. Create a successful business, automate it, and repeat. I've heard the "4 hour work week" is a good book. Try looking into that. I would say "working" 4 hours a week is close enough to autopilot for me | |

Thanks for the reply. Now the question is how can you put your business on autopilot? lets say you have a website or a blog that earns you money, If you stop working on it you might loose what you've worked hard to achieve. unless you outsource the work. Am i right? dm |

If you have built back links enough to your website, there are lots of possbilities to keep your website or blog in the top search engine results. I have a websites that was built 3 years back. Still it brings me thousands visitors every month even without updating it. Eswar |

Why run on autopilot when you can continuously work to improve.

I think you can have a business that runs on "autopilot" but that doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have to do any maintenance to your websites in order for that to happen. I have many sites that make me money with very little effort, but experience over the years has taught me that if I totally do nothing at all *ever* then eventually my websites will start getting less and less visitors and then no matter what I do to them it seems I can never work them back to the same level. Yes, if I worked these sites all the time they would certainly make more and more money and grow even stronger over time. I guess I am too lazy or my attention wanders too much 'cause I seem to lose interest on them pretty easily! And, of course, you could outsource all the maintenance, link getting and adding of content to your business which would cause it to keep making money and growing "on autopilot". Lee |

Like anything, Autopilot is a little misunderstood - it's very easy to automate many of the redunant and tedious tasks a business person might do to run as automatically as possible. But, just like the Flight Crew, they are still in the background monitoring everything |

if you build websites that fetch rss feeds from other websites and post them on your site, then its possible, sure... but you make like 1$ per month through adsense lol for the "normal" autopilot, you have at least to add the outsourced articles to your own page. you can buy those basic sites at sitepoint, so you can skip the creation process, but to add the content you must use your hands. oh and you shouldnt pay for the initial link building either, just take 20 minutes and submit your new page to the directories, put one article on some directories, and such... the rest can be outsourced |

It seems Google downgrades ranking quickly any sites produced on autopilot.

I'm not sure that any internet business runs 100% on autopilot. I do have a few sites though that I don't update regularly and they continue to make money. If I can go on holidays for a month, never touch my sites, and my income still continues to roll in, then I consider that to be autopilot. I would still go back to updating them, building links etc after that month though. |

Autopilot passive income channels ABSOLUTELY exist. That's the first lesson I learned about google adsense sites back in 2004 I still have sites in the top 10 that I have NOT updated since 2006, imagine that..even after the Panda updates.Depending on your money making tact, some ideas maybe more hands off than others |

well it really depends on the type of business you are running. In case you have a very successful website getting loads of visitors and making money off adsense then it's possible to make money on autopilot...however ever a very good website will need to be updated from time to time so i don't really think that it's entirely possible. however the case that very little intervention is required is another thing all together...

I have products that make money on autopilot, but they are rarely ever autopilot - You have to handle all the support and email requests so nothing is ever really 100% autopilot.

For me 100% autopilot does not exist. You should always be testing to increase conversion ![]() Cheers, ~Gary |

Yes there is a such thing as an autopilot system. The key is to initially set up the groundwork in order to sustain it. The problem that comes with this sort of system is that many people seem to think that there is no maintenance involved.

Wow, I'm amazed this thread emerged from the depths of the WF. It's almost 3 years old! As far as autopilot goes- isn't that why marketers do SEO? #1 ranked site in Google + opt-in page + autoresponder = $$$ |

In my opinion, outsourcing is pretty much autopilot. All you have to worry about at that point is making sure your workers get paid right? (Those who outsource please back/up or refute me. I'm going straight off of assumption here)

A good way to reach the "autopilot" type of business is to hire a PA that can help with the day to day activities that takes your time... I met a very successful guy a few months ago in a marketing meeting that is outsorcing EVERYTHING... his PA reads his emails and only forwards him the ones that are important, to the point that he reads about 1 or 2 emails a day |

There is... and no you don't need to outsource... Think PPC (if you have a system in place, paying for ads to bring in constant targeted traffic that leads to predictable sales and a passive income) |
