Ok, so before I start writing an article, I would like to know whether is it important to have a real website to link to (instead of my CB Hoplink). But the thing is, I have no clue what content to put on my website before they're linked into the merchant's site. Is it necessary to put an autoresponder, collect visitors' details, giving them free Ebooks, etc? I appreciate all of your suggestions, thank you. |

It's not necessary. Sometimes you will have higher conversions if you use your own landing page where you pitch the product. You can start out without a landing page if that confuses you.

The best thing would be to have a wesite for this particular product or niche. but, i think while you are planning to build your website you can start with articles marketing. write several articles and posted them in articles directories and build some lenses (squidoo, scribd...) and connect all together... that can generate some sales!

If you want to divert and convert, then you could use a free wordpress blog or a blogspot one

Hi jimborders, I feel your pain! It can be so confusing knowing what to do for affiliate sales, there's a universe of choices ![]() Must you have a website/landing page? No, but as patJ suggested a pre-sales landing page can often increase conversions for your product. The idea of a landing page is not to "sell" the product, you want to get them to the sales page and "warm them up a bit" about the product. That's why review sites have worked so well. They're not saying "buy my stuff, buy my stuff", they say "hey we tried these 5 things, and found that this one was the best because of blah". There are many types of landing page, review sites being just one type. You mentioned autoresponders and this is another great way to go. In this case the main goal of your landing page would be getting them to sign up to your mailing list. This can be done by giving away an ebook as you suggested, although it's certainly not the only method. Once they're on your list you should have an email sequence that is selling the benefits of your product. Whatever way you go, try to keep it simple, don't think you have to do everything at once! Just pick one method and run with it, in the end the only way you'll know if something works is by trying it out yourself ![]() Cheers, Ben |
