Postcard Marketing Help Needed

I have a close friend who sells postcards and she wants to use a Free Recorded Message to identify businesses that are currently using postcards or might use postcards to market their business so she her direct mail services.

I would like suggestions for what to put on the initial marketing postcard sent to the business as well as some help scripting the free recorded message.

Initial Postcard: Headline, subhead, bullets, call to action

I think I have the basics, I'm just looking for a little help from a few creative geniuses.

Thank you in advance.

Will, thank you for taking the time to respond. You're probably right. I should have started there first. You look like an Old Spice man. just kidding.

        Coco -

I'll send you a PM with my paypal address.

Good luck. Oh and I am in the copywriter board as well, most guys don't deal with postcards - to short.

        Tim

PS: Last free tip. Make sure to double check all your numbers, websites, and recorded message center to ensure that they are all correct. Finally, don't expect the moon. Send 1000, expect 10+ calls.

        Good luck

LMAO I feel like I was just in a retard tornado.

I was raised with 3 older brothers so I have a dry "guy type" sense of humor, so don't take any of this wrong. I really think you mean well despite the way you seem to come across.

          Thanks for your help.

PS I know if we were talking face to face we'd both be laughing and having fun because I'm certain that the condescending arrogance is just my imagination.

I am really going to miss you Coco when this place goes paid members only.

At any rate if you posted a card for review or gave us a better idea of what you were trying to sell (which is a mistake with a postcard btw) or do with the card we could all help out more.

            Your choice of course.

Almost all the postcard vendors have an online gallery of samples. However, none of them have any text-heavy or all-text examples in their galleries. Even with that limitation, you can get some clever ideas from their samples. Most of the time they're set up so you can search for ideas by industry.

              Have fun,

Tim, I really don't know where the animosity is coming from. If asking for free advice at a forum is against the rules then I am guilty. Please accept my apology. I'm just another working stiff trying to make a buck. I wasn't looking for anything free from you. If my joking has offended you then I offer my apologies for that also. Good luck to you.

Get a copywriter, rather than doing it yourself. For a few dollars you'll get something 10 times more effective

I was hoping some creative types might throw some advice my way for FREE!

How do I move it to the copywriting forum without making waves?

        Cocco -

When you go to a restaurant do they feed you for free? People who want something for nothing rarely get it.

Here is my suggestion. Spend some money and money will come to you. And I know I know FREE is better than costing but I find that people rarely do anything with the FREE info they get.

And this isn't coming from a newbie, this is someone who has made $25k from postcards and literally wrote the book on it.

But here is my free suggestion - follow this formula and it can help

        Attention
        Interest
        Desire
        Action

Check out this article as well:

Tim, I'm not expecting you to do anything for me for FREE! Don't hurt yourself. I was merely joking around with the guy who suggested that I get a copywriter.

Shame on me for asking for advice on a forum anyway. What was I thinking?

FYI, I've got a good feel for the direction to take the project in and was just asking for some last minute advice before I kicked it off.

          AIDA huh? Thanks.

Do you want a couple of bucks for your time?

I agree with Tim. Especially when it comes to getting someone's "Attention". Find a way
to do this with the least amount of words as possible, and one great image. Otherwise, you've lost your opportunity. Good Luck!
